New board

I read the back page of the Observer today with great intrigue. It's great to see MD wants to hand over some of the responsibility so he can concentrate solely on the vital issue of finding us a new home. And if it's people from 'inside the club', then all the better. Can any of the Trust board, or indeed anyone, give any info about the proposed new shake-up, i.e. who's going to be involved, or will it be kept under cover until it's been confirmed? Or is it simply that MD hasn't told anyone yet?

Ditto.

Having said that at the Tonbridge game my Dad saw someone who said he was a Slough Director who he had never seen before.

I have absolutely no idea what is going on except for the short article in the Observer which I have now had a chance to read. Looks like Martyn is looking for a board of four with him taking on a consultancy role whilst looking for another site for a ground. We will obviously have to wait and hear it from the horse's mouth.

Not wishing to throw a spanner in the works and I'd have to take another look at the Trust Rules but doesn't a Trust Board member being part of the Board of the Club potentially create a conflict of interests?

The situation would be different of course if that person was representing the Trust on the board of the Club but I can see problems here. What if the person is party to information via the Club that he is asked not to pass onto the Trust? I don't necessarily mean that in an underhand way but there are certain things that require a degree of confidentiality before they're released into the public domain.

That said, I think Martyn relinquishing some of the day-to-day running and concentrating on the ground issue can only be a good thing and he should be applauded for it.
