Slough Town 0, Bishops Stortford 1.

Absolute crap. No heart, no conviction, bottling out of challenges left, right and centre.
NOONE GAVE A **** .
Stortford were well organised, but were not great by any means. And thanks to their number 11 for injuring our best player in the first half, Sammy Winston. After we lost him, we were buggered.

Pretty poor match.
We had lots of possession, especially second half, but did not look like creating chances and did not seem to have many attacking ideas with one shot from Michael Bartley our only chance through the whole of the game.
and where was everyone? Our home support was awful today, probably at Reading and with us having nowt to play for it's hardly a surprise.
The midfield was too deep and does not support the front two enough - that was VERY apparent today and it has been all season.
Did not think too much of Stortford, I think they may struggle next season. Hyatt is a V.Good player as are their two strikers, but not too sure about the rest - Good luck to the anyway.
Wonder if the result may have been different if Gilkes, Gallagher, Ullathorne and Stott were fit?
and again, good luck to Stortford and their fans apart from the drunken fool in the black jacket who made an [****!!****] of himself.

Very much and end of season approach from the players.Several good saves by Mautone, while yet again we did not test the opposition keeper.
With many of our player reputed to be on £500-600 a week, as fans we deserve better than this.
Roll on next season--and please let it be without Browne and Deaner, and all those players who only try when they feel like it.

Chris, you ask where was everyone today.
Think about it.Uncommitted players, no team work, an owner who makes Arthur Daly look honest,a manager who is depriving a village somewhere of its idiot.
As predicted earlier on this year, with Browne and Deanere in charge, thinks could only go from bad to worse. The fans are voting with their feet.

If Browne and Deaner continue, next season will be even worse. All I hope is that when Deaner goes, he does not leave the club with debts to overpaid, useless players that he wanted signed up.

Chris you are very loyal to the club, but don't confuse that loyalty with loyalty to Browne and Deaner. They have just spent another season pushing us further into the mire.

Apparently there was a game on at "The Park" today . I went along but there was nothing there . Few people standing about especially a group of people huddled together all decked in blue and were making a racket and seemed all pleased with themselves . What was that all about ? I was told as I left that a football match was played . Is this true as I need to be told .
 tongue.gif" border="0

I said after the Aylesbury game that enough was enough and true to my word I have not been back.Perhaps people have realised they are lining the pockets of con artists by paying to watch cr*p and have seen the light. Get rid of the Mob in charge and I'll be back tomorrow, as will a lot of others I dare say

I think once the cancer ( Deaner )has been removed from the club fans will return, Radio and press will return and do a better profile on us! Enthusiasm hope will return!

I just feel sorry for those few sods who thought that this season Deaner had turned the corner!

I also voted with my feet and got the usual nonsense about not being a real fan.....The time for change arrived a long time ago and more and more people can see it now....too many lies, too many broken promises and business methods that defy belief......we all know the source of the problem and it's time that those few who insist on wearing rose tinted glasses took them off and faced reality before no-one is left.....anyone got a new broom?

Anyone got a new broom? Witchcraft your latest thing? smile.gif" border="0
Umm, to be honest, if Deaner is still in charge next season, I won't be going. I'll continue to liase with Roy Merryweather and provide score updates to the others that don't go, but as long as he's in charge, I've had enough now.
Only problem is, who do we replace him with?

Chris--see all the above. The missing fans weren't at Reading, they've just had it with the way the club is run.
If Deaner and Browne continue you are looking at crowds of 150 next season.
The future--really depends on the contracts players have been issued. If a lot of the £500-600 a week contracts run into next year, we are stuffed either way, as these sorts of contracts cannot be afforded at this level. If only the performance ratings were as high as their wages!!!

Yeah, I'm fed up with the situation (AGAIN!), but unless the fans actually PUT their foot down and work out a way to run the club without the current consortium in charge what can you do?
What other option is there?
There seems to be a lot of talk of wanting the two out, but nothing has been done to do it apart from talking.
Somebody, the fans or STSA have to put their foot down and make a stance and rather than just writing 'I want ...... + ......... (Fill in blanks!) then thay have to act on it.
Who is going to do it though.

I must be mad . I'll be there next season . I just can't walk away . I've been going for far too long just to give up . For those who above who don't go anymore or will not go again , that's your choice and opinion if that's the way you feel . Nothing i can say will change your minds other than to say that's another nail in our coffin . Crowds that dwindle even further will kill us . (if you look at todays NLP we were the highest in Div1 and higher than several prem gates in Ryman and Unbond) . We could have 2,000 ave gates and our 'owners' will still screw up . O.k I hear you all say what's my idea then ? I say I aint a clue . We walk away we die . We've spoken up before and they threaten to pull the plug . So as usual us fans are sh*t on .
I'd like to say to everyone to keep coming along .

But i can't really hold it against you if you don't .
It is a slow painful death but in my own personal tunnel visioned mind i see into the light hoping a figure appears that will be our saviour .
I'm not very good at holding my breath .

Well I have not posted in while because it seemed a bit out of order when I was one of those refusing to go to matches until Deaner , Browne and co had gone.

So not in position to comment on form or player performance.

Totally understand where people like Wayne whove been going for years stand on this. Must be toughest decision for them becuase unlike those of us who 've walked after three years max , these guys saw STFC when it was a real force.

Can't see anyone in the council wanting to do business with consortium, but for your sakes hope I'm wrong.

First thing club needs surely is a management team competent to run club both on and off the pitch. No treating fans as mugs. No treating those who speak out as 'the problem'.

There is no respect at Slough Town and so no respect for Slough Town. A great shame.

Those that have and will walk away are not true Slough fans-you should all be there through thick and thin.To really think that the supporters club could run Slough F.C. is in my opinion a farce-for one reason only, all these so called supporters are leaving now because the standard of football has dropped-and with no real money it would drop further-I don't want to see my Slough playing park football. And to Louise and all her cohorts,if we are successful again-please stay away.

Most people are not leaving because the standard of football has dropped. They are leaving because the players often seem not to be trying, and because the club is so badly run.
Whether or not the players are right not to train, not to try, and not to care is argueable, but if the players don't give 100%, then the supporters are being conned.
Rumours abound on the terraces, some of which, if true, are really quite shameful, and the club cannot/will not do anything to put the situation right.
Last seasons money problems could perhaps have been a one off, but to have overspent twice is sheer lunacy. If money is short, you cut the budget. You pick local players who want to play, even if they don't get paid much. This season there was no relegation,so we could have experimented with young players--nothing to lose. This at least could have happened once promotion was out of the way.
Slough has done the opposite--our players are widely reputed to be the best paid in the league (when the money does turn up), better paid than most Ryman Premier players. Look at what we get in return.

You may be happy with the situation, Colin, but like it or not, agree with it or not, more and more people are voting with their feet.

Thanks for your hospitality on Saturday. Thoroughly enjoyed it, although the match was nothing special. We had Alex Riches missing at the back and Carl Fannon and our player of the season Glen Soputham on the bench. Trevor Paul and Vinnie John both carrying injuries...and that is just by way of explanation as to why we were not up to standard. I thought you played well enough considering the circumstances (do you know about your players wages not being met?) but lacked real conviction up front. Anyway, shame only a few of your fans came into the bar and we all apologise for drunken silly Vince. He was slaughtered when he got on the coach at 11.30am and that may well be his last away venture with the supporters club. Good luck for next season, and if you can get your finances sorted out, you should be amongst the favourites.

Sounds like more supporters are voting with their feet, which is sad from the clubs point of view, but with a virus like Deaner in control, its not an unexpected happening.

One thing stands out to me that would make his intentions clear, Has Head Coach and tactical wizard Browne started organizing pre-season friendlies? If he has it tells me Deaner and his cronies intend to take us down?

Also what has come across, is that the "sickophants" are extremely quite, except low and behold, good old Colin made a quest appearance this week to whom I would say quite confidently, I would not let any of you lot invest any of my money into any of your surethings

And more importantly when Deaner departs over the horizon, take all the brown noses with them!

Most of Those players didn't deserve to wear the club shirts. Wilkinson was absolute poor and Mautone was back to his normal poor ways, although he did make 2 decent saves. Browne still in charge = No future!
What an impression, Ullathorne, Fitzgerald, Gilkes and Gallagher sitting in the Car Park and drinking Bottles of Beer at about 2:30!!
mad.gif" border="0
