I quite agree with Zeal on this. A quality live album is made as nature intended. LIVE (a la Live At Leeds, clicks and all - sadly the clicks have been taken out of the re mastered version - the shame) but this shouldn't effect your personal choice. I have the "Bangladesh" album but in my opinion there are better albums. Zeal and Claire have theirs. Although I had no idea that my post would cause such a "point".

 

Now, the Robbie album has been doctored but then again so are a great many live albums. Thin Lizzy's "Live And Dangerous", David Bowie's "On Stage" and the worse offender the Judas Priest "Unleashed In The East" (not one of the tracks are live - recorded in a studio with crowd noise added) come to mind. I'm sure that Oasis tinkered with the sound or mix or vox somewhere. Artists are very cautious as to put out a warts and all live album...unless of course you are Motorhead and had nothing to do with the release of "No Sleep 'Till Hammersmith" (a quality, ball breaking, hard rockin', live offering).

 

I just thought I'd ask, which live album any one of us would leave the pub for at closing time, roll a "herbal one" and listen to.

 

Actually Rob - quality choice there. The Johnny Cash Live at Folsom Prison is excellent (in my opinion) and is certainly one to I'm gonna dig out for tomorrow night.

Excellent stuff Zeal! And even better because I was actually at the gig and brings back memories every time I listen to it.
