Disciplinary record

Someone touched on the subject of discipline in the Bill Edwards (400 appearances) thread, that the discipline is much better this season (so far).

Is that the players attitude or much more lenient refereeing than the "jobsworths" that you see in the Conference?

Looking forward to getting to my first game on Saturday, at last!!

Only just seen my first game of the season (Cambridge City - thought we were *very* unlucky not to get a point, BTW), but there are signs that we are not being so rash or so mouthy. Keister was the possible exception on Monday, though I thought (alongside Mark Green, who looks excellent) he was our best player. Still loses his temper once or twice a game, and it would make things tricky just now if he got a suspension or two, with midfield a bit stretched.

The referees do not appear to have improved, based on what I saw a couple of days ago. However, there was a point where Greg obviously made a comment to the ref, and rather than just reaching straight for his pocket, he gave him a 'firm talking to', instead, which was quite refreshing to see, and might not have happened last year.

It is depressing as hell to see linesmen giving offside decisions if the opposition centre-half yells "offside" loud enough, though!

On the playing front, I am certainly a Che convert now. For the first hour of the game he carried more threat than Rocky. He always strikes me as being likely to get 10 or maybe 15 goals in a season if he could just get one or two in quick succession. He was particularly unlucky with his well hit volley past the City keeper.

Elsewhere I though Aaron Barnett (correct name, I think?) looked like he might be a good foil for Bill in the middle. Gradley plays well in patches, but I hold with the consensus view that we need another man in midfield, and that we need a tall and quick defender. Darren Annon, though clearly super keen, often looks a little off the pace of things.

Sorry to go on, but I may as well do this in one go. Why does CK persist in loaning out the boy Pullman? All we ever hear about is what a 'prospect' he is, yet, though we have gone down to the equivalent level where we was scoring for Eastbourne last year, we pack him off to Folkestone in the tier below. Moses was clearly keen to get on near the end, and had a go with a volley, but I cannot be the only frustrated fan who'd like to see Pullman get the last half hour, can I? Even just in the KSC in the first instance, perhaps?

I am away in france at the moment so i have not seen any football involving the gaaaaaate since carshalton. regarding your comment on ian pullmans loan and having watched the ramsgate, tonbridge, bognor and carshalton games i firmly believe CK as done the right by pullman and loaned him out to again,he needs to gain more experience and to learn how to convert it. i believe he remains a good prospect for the future and its a great pity he couldnt be part of a reserve set up in a stronger league along side young whitby and robinson from ramsgate(both wasted there). Only a few more days left then i shall be back in to watch the Gaaaaaaaaaaate V Weymouth. Come on the Gaaaaaate onwards and upwards.ps. saw a couple of local village sunday league games both on pitches and with facilities tht Ramsgate would kill for(yes Village). nice to watch sunday league players playing football instead of taking out the man and grudges.

Have to say i found the same in Austria nice new grounds everywhere even for the small village teams. Most would have been conf standard. <img src="/images/graemlins/achso.gif" alt="" />

Aaron Barnett has played very well in the last 2 home games his timeing on his tackles is suprisingly good considering the level he is playing at and his passing isnt to bad he sometimes looks a bit lost at times but on the hole a very good signing im sure he will only improve.
