And another thing...

I'll put it again in case you didn't quite get the point of my message in the first place:-

'It's not exactly rocket science is it? If you come on here and poke fun at someone helping out the club, he or she is going to think twice about helping again if they get smartarse comments.'

Note that at no point was Southport's work for the club criticised. It's just a shame he doesn't share the same respect for others also helping behind the scenes who also put in their time and effort but get criticised... or taken the pi$$ out of.

it's a techie language, wouldn't dare take ur name in vain

Wouldn't really class it as a "techie language" ... it is a fairly common (universal) means of extracting data from a database so that it becomes information!

With today's PC (generically speaking) databases with their GUI front ends eg M$ Access (Agh! or what ever it's called nowadays!) you don't even need to know it as you basically just select from drop down boxes or similar - although it does help when you want to do a really complicated extraction - not like the 'old days' of DB2.

Don't know why the tone of the forum is so anti-ETFC at the moment. Yes our supporters want success on the pitch - as I'm sure WA, Romford and all the other ESL teams do. That doesn't mean we take it for granted.

And there is no doubting how much help is given so generously by a loyal band of ETFC supporters - including Southport. I have no idea why he is being singled out.

Can we get back to talking about football pls?

What's with the Southport bashing? Just get off his back, the guy can't make a comment without certain (unregistered people)criticising! I've not read one post of he's that has been considered rude in anyway, blunt or to the point maybe but that's all! In the past 6 months this forum has been good natured. Now all of sudden its beat up Southport Time, I'm with Foxy leave the guy alone!

Totally agree with you. He might make me a bit sarky at times, but what do you expect from someone who prefers SQL? Databases do that to you. SQL is "Structured Query Language" and is either pronounced "ess-cue-ell" or "sequel", in case you didn't know. It's yet another area in which Microsoft has tried and failed to rewrite the industry standard.
