I felt sorry for Leverstock Green last night. After making a bit of money, they're probably going to use it all fixing their floodlights. They could have charged us £5 and upped the price of their programme as every other club does, but kept it at £3, as well as keeping their food prices down too.

I also feel they could have asked us all to pay again at Hemel Hempstead, so what I am going to do is stick my programme in my pocket and pay another three quid as a goodwill gesture and wish the guys good luck for the rest of the season .

(And if the admission price goes up to £5 on Thursday then f*** em ;-) )

Except of course that LG were quite happy to accept their share of the biggest gate of the round at £5 per adult head on Saturday. 177 at £3 isn't quite so helpful to the Town wagebill and ther won't be much money generated on Thursday. I doubt whether the players will accept only half wages for last night!

This is proving an expensive venture this year.

So LS, you reckon that what's left of about £500 gate money after the cost of our stewarding and first aid provision, referee and assistants fees and then split between LG the FA and us will cover the players and management team's expenses?

I don't think so (and its only Wednesday). By tomorrow evening, Hemel will also need a cut for use of their pitch and the ref and his mates will have earned again. On the basis that 50 people not there last night turn up and pay, how much will that leave to cover ETFC's expenses for getting to and playing the match after LG and other shares?

Less than nothing, in my book!

Understand your point BS. But the rules in this round is half each of the gate.263 at £5 a go,is not bad. PLUS £500 prise money for winning the tie. Fair enough we won't make much money out of the two replays, but we certainy won't lose money on them.

How do you know that players get paid expenses per game. They might get a flat rate per week. If it were a league game that was adandoned we wouldn't get ANY gate money let alone half (OR half of the re-aranged game).

Half of 177 and half of a further 50 (approx) tomorrow will i believe cover costs. £500 from saturdays gate plus £500 prize money will see us in the 'black' regarding the tie.

The cost to our title hopes (injury wise) is harder to measure.

LS, my point is that once you have deducted all of the prior calls on the takings (referees and officials, etc, etc.) its a big reduction on 'half of 177'. I doubt whether the total would have covered the players expenses for last night, and tomorrow's certainly won't.

And as for whether the players get paid per game or a flat rate, the latter wouldn't seem much incentive to turn up tomorrow!!

BS, the Stewarding was Voluntary at Leverstock Green, no charge was made, the same as no charge is made at Brimmo. Basically its the same as most things are done at Brimmo, for Free, Nothing Zilch, cos thats the kinda people we are.
