well .....as you all know...we do like a bit of music at the old stadium and the orginal band served us well for 2 years until they ran off with the takings.....

 

right...time for UU to jump into action....'Oi Calder'...I says...'get us a noo band pronto and stop fckn around with the barmaids'...

 

'okay' he says...

 

fck me...did you see that lot last week....six beatnicks with brothel creepers and sideburns playing skiffle and 'way down upon the swanny fckn river'....jesus....no wonder the ref sent 'em orf......

 

'right Calder' I says....'get a proppa brass band that play out of tune and look like fans'

 

right' he says....so what do we get...a fckn marching band from grays all blazered up and on parade.....ha ha ha....larf...I was nearly crying....the gezzer was conducting 'em as if they were at the albert fckn hall...

 

I thought they were gonna start playing 'abide with me'....

 

now far be it for me to blame anyone else for these little hiccups....all good leaders of men take the responsibility and the buck stops there.....so I have no conscience in telling you all that

if you see an advertisment in the local paper saying 3 scruffy musicians required.....

UU - have you not thought about plumbing the infinite depths of Dear Stu's wisdom regarding the band?
