The "Official" Supporters club.

Dear sir, i feel that i simply must comment on the ineptness displayed by the above. Firstly can anybody pleease explain to me why anybody should pay the Supporters club membership few, and what a member is entitled to for his or her money. I have many suggestions for this, but i would like to here suggestions from those at the cutting edge of activities.

Whilst i commend efforts on the recent poster campaign, can it also be explained to me why many of the posters up around the town are not updated and (many currently dislplay pre-season friendlies and are in a tatty state, which obviously reflects poorly on the club)and do the supporters club accept this is representative of the traditional slip-shodness we have come to expect from those who are active within it,however well intentioned they may or may not be.

Have the supprters club made any efforts to liase with Mr Kieth Scott on how the supporters club could market itself, and be of greatest assistence to the club and to its members. My understanding is that Mr Scott suggested the club charge a substantially higher membership fee.

I would also like to point out that whilst i believe supporters club activists to have the club at heart, i feel it only fair to point out that many people, including myself take great exception to the exclusive way members of this group conduct themselves. I wish to point out that the suppoters club should exist for the benefit of all supporters and should not act as a drinking-circle or cliquey ego boost for a few. I personally know of several people at the club who often feel intimidated by the above and will not get involved in a helpful manner with supporters club affairs because of the attitude of a few people within it. In the end we should all be working together to promote our great football club and be working together.

I greatly look forward to peoples responses.

Yours:The ISA (Independant Suppoters Association)

Ps Malcolm Great work with the site as usual, the ISA respects the tireless work that you un-selfishly put into the club, even if others dont!

Some interesting and valid points raised there with regards to what the supporters club has to offer.

I do think that a higher charge should be made and more benefits included, for example discounted travel (where possible as I know their will not always be a demand). I'm not sure if such ideas have been looked into or not.

Also maybe discounts on club merchandise and free entry into events organised, but as I say the membership fee would have to be higher, I don't know if this would be faesable (Sp?) or not and I understand some surveys were handed out so hopefully this feedback can be used to introduce any new features off the back of these.

As you say though they do work hard for the club and that alone needs to be congratulated.

discounted travel is already happening. A fiver off each coach trip.

Why doesn't the Indepentant supporters club work WITH the supporters club? I've been to three or four meetings and if you went maybe you would really see what went on in the meetings and find out why some things cannot happen and why some things can happen. The supporters club do a good job (the race night raised £500 i think and because of it being in the Stag and Hounds a few people who wouldn't of gone took part rasing more money for the club!

Can i ask what your supporters club are going to do to raise money and promote the club?

Dear sir, i feel that i simply must comment on the ineptness displayed by the above. Firstly can anybody pleease explain to me why anybody should pay the Supporters club membership few, and what a member is entitled to for his or her money. I have many suggestions for this, but i would like to here suggestions from those at the cutting edge of activities.

- Supporters who sign up to the Supporters Club are given a discount on coach travel whenever a coach is provided. We will also, hopefully, be arranging events during the season to which Club members should be given a discount to entry.

- The posters we intentionally created to span a two-month period but be changed monthly. We are but a small group who is growing and trying to do our best to keep things up to date. The posters are due for changing this week.

Have the supprters club made any efforts to liase with Mr Kieth Scott on how the supporters club could market itself, and be of greatest assistence to the club and to its members. My understanding is that Mr Scott suggested the club charge a substantially higher membership fee.

- Keith Scott has been in active discussion with the Supporters Club to assist him in his efforts to raise the profile and finances of the club. He did suggest that we up the membership fee but we felt that we would be able to get more members if we kept the fee low.

In the end we should all be working together to promote our great football club and be working together.

- I am sorry you feel that way. Initially we all met in a group but spilt to a smaller group, or committee as we are now know, and will be holding two types of meetings, one just for the committee and another for all the members to come and ask any questions and discuss any issues. I suggest that if you feel like this then you come to the next meeting.

I greatly look forward to peoples responses.

Why be so supportive of this group Malcolm? We both now they continually run down your hard work and are talkers not activists. How the "OFFICIAL" Supporters club could run a race night in a local pub less profitable than when held at Terry Hall is anyones guess. (If the "Official Supporters Club object to this comment then please, lets see your figures on this message board!)

The ISA will be a think tank for the club, and will be pro-active, and iportantly open for all supporters. Whatch this forum for my on the ISA in the coming weeeks. Up the ROyalists.

ISA Activist The offical supporters club are seen at the club each and every game...if people knew who you are (or at least EVERYONE knew) perhaps they could discuss ideas with you? Feel free to come along to the OPEN FOR ALL meeting on September the 11th. The race Night was held at the pub because:

A, The Pub had a very good system on computer which we did not have to hire out saving us alot of cash.

B, More 'locals' who wouldn't of come turned up

C, No staff costs

D, No Power costs etc

E, We could not of done a better job

F, It promoted the club in a good way to perhaps some people who didn't even know about us but happend to be at the pub

G, It raised over £500

H, We took ALL MONEY bar the drinks and food takings

I'm sure there are more that people could add...Do you have as many if not more as to why we should have had it in the club house?

By the way...replying to your own post trying to drum up support <img src="/images/graemlins/applaus.gif" alt="" /> Good one

now listen, surely what everyone wants is a successful Windsor & Eton Football Club both on and off the field. So instead of all this we're better than you and vice versa, why don't we just sit down, let us chat through the supporters clubs objectives, and I'm sure you'll find they are pretty much similar to your own. I respect your opinions, because everyone is entitled to their opinion, however I do have to disagree about the supporters club being a closed shop, we have over 40 members already signed up, from all ages, young supporters through to elderly ones and its growing every week, many of whom are really pleased with what we're trying to achieve, as may I add is Keith Scott. We've already got over £1000 in the kitty, loads of stuff in the pipeline (to be held at the club) and we're trying our hardest to raise the profile of our club. All may I add in our own time, off our own backs. All we are trying to achieve is the best for Windsor & Eton FC, so why not come along to the meeting on the 11th and you can see for yourself, you'll be honestly most welcome. In regard to Malcolm, I can assure you he is a highly valued member of the committee and we all greatly appreciate his efforts. Lets put an end to this, and work together!
