I see that the Gate get a reasonable amount of praise on the Cambridge web site.

Not sure that i agree that we are a good side from what i have seen.

Still, at least we seem to be playing and gelling a bit more.

2 more players before we lose touch and we could be a decent side.

I fear what will happen when injuries and suspensions kick in though as the subs bench is very weak, and we have seen already this season that you cannot 'carry 'players

We played some very attractive football today, had plenty of posession and not a few chances.

However, two things struck me, one was defensive errors, we are still not working together at the back and need some kind of strengthening there. Secondly, we dally about making good passes in midfield, OK, but by the time the ball gets up to the strikers the opposing defence have had plenty of time to get their men back and we then have two or three of them on each striker.

One on one our lads run rings around the opposition many times but we seem to lack the space and finish. Maybe it is just the lack of a bit of belief.

On the plus side, Mark Green has turned out to be a phenomenal player, and Pat Gradely gets better every time I see him. Aaron played with much more assuredness this time. Che must surely be the unluckiest striker in the league, he had one off the bar at the beginning of the game which, had it gone in, would have been a blinder. Once he finds the net I think he will score and score. Clarkey, Rocky, Oates, Keister and Annon all playing well.

It threw it down most of the game as well, not the ideal playing conditions. Didn't know you get a monsoon in Cambridge.

I still think we will come right.

Gradley coming good is reassuring,as him apart, the midfielders on the bench leave alot to be desired

CK seems to have found his strongest midfield now, but it obviously needs strengthening.

Do i interpret that i may not be alone in thinking that Bill is out of salts, and struggling at the moment.

If Bill is out of salts at the mo he will get himself right rest asured,Margatefan it appears that you would like to see MFC play the old long ball up front and go and chase it,somtimes it works somtimes it dont, mix and match, thats what its all about.

Not for me the old long ball, TonyM, just a more speedy delivery from the midfield up. I much prefer to see the kind of football we are playing at the moment, good passing and keeping the ball on the ground. It's the space we are lacking to get a good line on goal that I would like to see.

Agree about the game except Pat G. Thought he was slow at times and unfit. Yep unlucky but we did not take our chances. Played nice footy better than some of the years in conf quite frankly. Greeny took his goal well but we are lightweight upfront i think. Some good finds there i think and the new ones will come good. Liked the link up play. About 30 fans there who were supporting Gate but not much noise i.m afaid. A draw would have flattered them quite frankly so disappointing result. Nice ground.

Not doubting your opinion as Im sure youve seen him more times than In have but in my opinion Pat Gradley was awful against cambridge I'm now strarting to agree with micheal and believe that our problem does lie in midfield.

Good to see we now have a good replacement for smithy in olafur he was unlucky with the winning goal from where i was.

And ManChe looks so much better if he had scored that early chance i think we would have won and he would have got a few more

Was Che not a big help in getting you into the conference in the first place Gary?

And was he not your top scorer in your first season to help keep you up?

He may not have left in the best way but give the guy some respect for helping to put your club where it is now.

How quickly people forget. <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />
