I think that you are missing the point - what he means is that yes, you can with a little manual tuning, pick up the correct broadcast of meridian, but most people wouldn't bother. Therefore being able to pick it up on sky doesn't count.

 

The Scotland example, as I understand it, was to emphasize the fact that whilst the capability to pick up Meridian is there, most people would be unlikely to want to or need to. (It had nothing to do with packing your SKY TV equipment in the boot when going to Scotland!)

 

Therefore to get The Fleet to the masses locally, we need terrestrial broadcasting to take a greater interest in our exploits.

What I implied was that Meridian TV does not officially cover as far north in Kent as Gravesham. AndrewC stated that he could get Merdian via SKY and cable in the Gravesend area. What I was trying to say was that with SKY you could receive Meridian anywhere in the country! I live in Maidstone (Meridian area) and channel 103 on SKY is Meridian. However if I select channel 963 I can watch Carlton.

Actually, I watched Palace v Chelsea on Sky1 whilst sitting in a bar in Kos! Also saw the Birmingham game simultaneously on a 2nd screen on a South African TV channel! And what's that got to do with attendances? Bugger all, actually, but hey, what the hell!!!!
