Attendances

Recommended Posts

We may think we havent moved forward much, but looking at Confguide, our average home attendance after 2 games last season was 986 - this year its 1207. Equally, seasons average last year was 1178, so slight improvement there.

I know we will need to maintain our form and position in the top half of the table to keep people coming through the gates, but its looking positive thus far - and there should be good crowds for the next 3 home games as well - Stevenage, Hereford and Daggers - wouldnt it be great if we could be first and second in the table by the time we play Daggers - the potential for a crowd of over 2500 would surely then exist.

Mind you, lets,to use the well worn phrase, "take each game as it comes", and who knows what the future would bring then ??

Yeah, I should make my long-awaited return to Stonebridge Road soon(if you don't remember, I wrote a long boring thread on this...) anyway, I was wondering a few things..

How much does it cost..? £10?

I live near Manor Hotel and Singlewell School, towards the Motorway...if I were to go to town on the bus, then go from Gravesend train station to Northfleet train station (that is near the stadium...right?) how long would that take...?

Thanks in advance. smile.gif

Yesterday's crowd of 1350 wasnt bad but with Gillingham not playing and Charlton away we ought to be pulling more through the gate.

The York City performance showed the quality of the team and if they consistantly produce that level of performance its deserving of crowds of 2000+. A Big Ask I know!

Winning may be the short term solution to bigger gates but we need those people to turn up week-in week-out.

Hyping things up like yesterday helps. The sound tannoy behind the goal sounded great, especially with the music at the end - has it been upgraded? The new programme and handing round copies of the

Non-league paper are all good PR exercises too.

How about some regular quality half time entertainment?

and getting Hooky to hand round sweets to the kids each match?

and if we get into a play-off spot then lets "blow our own trumpet" and tell everyone about it in the press. Let a few schools in for free too or Kids Go free as last season.

Once they turn up they will be hooked. Even when we lose they will come back if the Club is seen to be making the effort as was the case yesterday.

If we do well and push for a play off place,we would hopefully get some coverage on Meridian,if not on London channels

Meridian does not cover that far north in Kent (i.e. Gravesham), so it is unlikely. If enough people contact Meridian TV then they may do match reports. After all is Charlton’s ground in the Meridian area?

Yes they do but it's usually only on cable or sky, unless you are on the eastern side of the borough and your aerial points towards Bluebell Hill rather than Crystal Palace. I contacted Meridian last season asking for more regular coverage of the 'Fleet but it seems the sports producer is not interested! That said, Geoff Clark their news presenter was a regular visitor to Stonebridge Road last term.

If you want to contact Meridian with a news story, and let's face it we have a story here contact them on news@meridiantv.com

Does that other person I remember still go..? It's this bloke, he must be in his early 20s now, I think he kinda supported Spurs too and worked in some way for the club, sometimes on the turnstiles..?

There was another bloke I remember but there's not much to say to describe him. He was obviously a big fan, probably had brown hair, and would stand behind the goal. That bloke with the Arsenal coat thingy on would stand near him too...

Probably will, just need to get some things sorted first (like a job)...then I think I'll feel better, because it's constantly on my mind and I just worry about it. But I've got an application form here to some shop and things look promising so I hope I'll get accepted there.

Anyway, so either Saturday, or the Hereford match.

Cheers for all the info! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Well SKY does not really count does it. As with a little bit of effort you could get Merdian ITV in Scotland on SKY!!! smile.gif
