The Sutton Game

Well what a difference 5 months makes.

The last time we visited Sutton we were humbled 3-1 and now we are smarting a hard earned victory.

The positives of the game for me was kirk getting his first goal which surely now will give him the confidence to go on and hit 20 plus goals. Wayne Purser looks quality to me and is forging a very good understanding with Kirk. Dazza is starting to show a bit of class in flashes. Lee Elam looked very threatening when he came on and I for one hope that he starts against Weymouth and gives either their right or left back a good roasting. Mark Westhead made a couple of stunning saves and looks very comfortable. However, the one player for me who has stood out so far this season is Lee Matthews. Him and Macca in the games together have forged a very good partnership and with Westie waiting in the wings, I think we won't be conceding many this year.

Looking forward to tomorrow's game against Claridge's lot which I'm sure will be a hum-dinger.

Good luck Garry and the boys for the season and here's hoping for some major silverware this season.

we felt unlucky not to steal a draw but the urchins definitely deserved the points.

 

Just watched the (excellent quality) video clips and Lee Elam motioning to the ballboy to 'give him five' after his goal made me chuckle!

 

Good luck against Muff and looking forward to our visit to your place, hopefully we'll have improved by then!
