I don't know what has changed, but the problems I had earlier with accessing the Waltham website with a browser other than that provided by M*crocr*p now seems to have been resolved. It could be due to changes made by their webmeister, or my upgrade from Netscape 7.1 to 7.2.

I just removed the "crude blocking" to quote Cyclops Phil.

It was only on their initially as there are/ were far too many differences between the browers to take them all into account with the limited amount of time that I have to play around. Yes, I could, and did, trap most but I only had to miss one (or two) and I got a barrage of abuse from CP, although to be fair, some of it was constructive which I have absolutely no problem with at all ... we can all learn from the experiences of others. However, it was just easier to cater for the majority.

I'm afraid to burst the Abbey's bubble, but in IE6 I have the top banner showing the team name and the date and INIT information plastered across each other. The site seems otherwise okay.

Hmm...

What screen res are you using ? Also, some users of Norton will find that it prevents the banner graphic from being downloaded. Anychance of a screen shot ?

It was hardly "a barrage of abuse" and, in any case, my replies were not to you but to AbbeyNut who resorted to gratuitous insults when I pointed out that burying its head in the sand could land the club in trouble. The WAFC site states it is maintained by a company, inIT (UK) Ltd, which suggests that it is a commercial transaction. If you feel my suggesting that the club should get a site which works properly if it has paid for it, or that a company which is advertising that it can maintain your website up for you (which is, after all, what inIT (UK) Ltd is doing or implying) should actually test that web site in more than one browser and preferably in more than one operating system, is a barrage of abuse, then I suggest you get a thicker skin.

So... Abbeynut and Abbeyman are one and the same? Well I never would have guessed it.

I was talking to both on Monday afternoon and they are definitely not the same person. In any case, I don't think either would want to be the other!

Never a truer word typed in jest!
