Bill Edwards 400 appearances

How did he play yeserday?

One swallow does not make a summer.

Bill not at his best against Carlshalton and Dorchester.Hope only a temporary lapse in form.

Still think we deperately need a quality midfield player, and a fast yet tall central defende.

Get those two positions sorted and we could just have a decent squad and season.

Need to stay injury free aswell.

I do note(touch woood )that disciplinary record appears to be improving ,which is vital with a small squad and no back-up quality.

Wonder if CK has 'had a word' about importance of avoiding suspensions

Yesterday took him to 396 (387+9sub).

He's currently 6th on the post-war list...

1. Bob Harrop 564

2. Terry Joyce 526

3. Norman Fusco 494

4. Ray Summers 485

5. Brian Hughes 403

6. BILL EDWARDS 396

...Bill will become the first player since Norman Fusco to go past 400 games - Norman passed the 400 mark during the 86/87 season.

Hopefully the club will do some kind of presentation to Bill on the day of his 400th game.

Bill's scored three goals....

1. 11.12.96 St Leonards Stamcroft (A) SLC

2. 18.04.98 Fareham (A) SL

3. 08.10.02 Farnborough (A) CON

...the last one was credited to Jay Saunders by some sources but I couldn't have been much closer and know that Jay didn't get a touch on Bill's long-range free kick.

Was feeling a bit reassured, but then read report on Kent on Line suggesting that it was Edwards error that led to their first goal.

Has to be said that for all the Misgivings about Scott ward in the early days, Bill has probably been directly responsible for at least 4 goals against.

Hope he comes good ,but does seem to be a bit error prone at moment that is costing us.

After effectively being dropped in favour of Zorro this time last year-he came back stronger than ever for second half of season.

Is that what it takes.

No -one is above justified criticism, but hope he comes good immediately and 'rights his lapses'
