YEADING 3 BILLERUCAY 1

With some more tinkering with the team formation and players, after today one must ask, why? Now I do not presume to do Justin's or Mattie's job and we have got a couple of players out with injury but I felt today that some players were feeling 'emselves into the game and with each other. Hey, I'm not having a go at our performance, we were all over them in the second half and we didn't stop even when we went 3 - 1 down but I dunno, in my opinion, we lacked width. The width we had in our first two games. Still, I put this down as a hiccup and not a major disaster. Yeading were really second best and like us on Tuesday against Wealdstone, they got the points 'cos we couldn't find the net.

By the way, we're 5th in the league at the mo...That'll change on Monday <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

OK..this is my view as a supporter.

WE had 80% of the possession.

We Played 60/70% of the game in their half.

We dominated the game.

We created 7/8/9 good scoring opportunities.

Yeading had little possession, defended most of the game, created just 3 chances.

Final score Yeading 3 Billericay 1

In my opinion, poor performance by Billericay.

But i don't think that will be the norm, we have all seen what we can do, and i expect normal service to be resumed soon.

I agree with all of that, that's why I don't think we should get too cut up about this result, as has been said before we will lose some games this season and in many ways I suppose it's divine retribution for Tuesday.

We started with a bold 4-3-3 formation and with the massive benefit that hindsight provides it didn't really work, with Jones and Wareham not making much impression and the midfield three having to work very hard against Yeading's four and the consequent lack of width meant that Yeading had an easy outball to their 2 putting him straight against Kerrigan, a tactic that they employed on numerous occasions.

We were all over them in the second half and their third goal was so against the run of play it was almost a crime but that's the way it goes. We had three attacking players on the bench in Ludovic, Stowe, and my mate Gallagher and I was surprised that at least one of them didn't get a go in the last 15. I also reckon that we are not quite upto scratch in at least one key area of the field but that is for others more worthy than me to decide.

Overall 10 points from 5 games isn't a bad start and I think over the course of the five games we have generally played pretty well. Let's get three points on Monday and gets ourselves back up there.

btw anyone know the attendance. It must have been more than 60 as there was more than 60 of us!!

Suprised to see us play 4-3-3 however as we created more chances than them cant really say it did not work. Poor finishing let us down but after Tuesday it is difficult to complain too much.

For those that went yesterday I think we saw which positions we are weak in.

We should bounce back strongly on Monday.

I would prefer to see us play 4 - 4 - 2 with two players getting it out wide as often as possible. Our forward play is much more decisive and lethal when we play this way as shown when we played Dover and it suits our the rhythm...but I'm just one opinion in a club of many.

Think we need someone with a bit more skill, pace and trickery upfront to give us a bit more variation, ala DJ Campbell. With no widemen we're not going to get in the crosses that would obviously play to our strengths with the tall strikers we have at the moment. Btw, anyone know why Bradley Allen didnt play??

Bradley has a thigh strain Andy.

To be fair, I think we have a good squad, its a mix of youth and experience. Not every player will play well every game.

I don't think anyone could disagree that Danny Hockton is a top quality striker at this level, and yesterday most of the scoring chances fell to him.

Bradly Allen has nothing to prove to anyone, Chris Stowe can score goals, he proved that in his few starts last year.

In Ross we have a young, Tall, fit, strong, Striker who will improve game by game, Danny Jones is another young striker who has lots of pace, and will improve game by game.

We don't need another striker.

Yesterday was one of those days when we should have won but didn't.

Agree with some of what you say but i dont see anyone with skill, pace and trickery who can take on a defence, induce a reckless challenge, turn nothing into something and is clinical enough in front of goal. Perhaps i'm asking for too much but if Hockton gets injured i think we'll struggle to score goals. Stowe is probably the most skilful striker we have but lacks pace in my opinion and doesnt appear to be in favour or if he is why hasnt he played so far this season??

Allow me to assist !
[color:"blue"]
If you view the pitch from the terraces, there are two long sides and two short ends.

In the middle of the two short ends, there are upright white post, with a cross member joining them !

Attached to these posts is a mesh contraption.

This is known as [color:"red"] THE NET ! [color:"blue"]

The idea is for your players to run down the pitch and kick [color:"red"] THE BALL [color:"blue"] , (the round white thing), into [color:"red"] [/color] THE NET [color:"blue"] past the fat geezer who stands just outside [color:"red"] THE NET. [color:"blue"]

This is then called, [color:"red"] A GOAL ! [color:"blue"]

Hope this helps.

Incidently, I see that one poster mentioned people sitting on the M.25.

This couldn't have possibly been your defenders, could it ??
