Mate bought one for £3k a year or so back, and it broke down within two weeks. He was in the middle of a field in Denmark at the time.

A good one is very reliable, hence, can be quite pricey.

 

A mate has got one which is over 25 years old and is on its third engine. He's been 'round the world' with it twice.

 

Nice low revving engine, so the wear and tear is minimal.

 

If you find one within your price-range, GHA, try and find a VW expert or mechanic to give the engine and gear-box the once over, or even pay the AA for a report.

Dunno about any of her mates, just started talking to her when she came up to the bar the other night to get some water.

 

How do you know her then?

well, her Danish friend, the one I mentioned in my last post, used to go out with my friend and I just became friends with the two of them that way (although more so with the Danish girl really). They come into Costa quite a lot as well. Before you ask, I don't have her number!

Erm, not too sure, Chubbhead. It was towards the end of the night and she was getting three pints of water (!). I remember the conversation with her, and it seemed to go quite well, so either we were both quite drunk and holding it down well, or both quite drunk. She said she hits O'Neills quite a lot, is that right?
