Good luck Steve sorry to see you go. You always gave 100% and never hid, even when your form was not at its best. When Steve was brought to the club by Graham Roberts he looked a Conference player, but under the clueless leadership of Browne he never achieved what he deserved. Stay at Hayes you will be better of even if they are relegated. Well done last night great result against Wxxking. All the best you have been a great servant to our club.

Well, Daly was the only person to atcually put 100% each game and was the only player that tried in the Maidenhead game. The only thing is, why will he want to come back after playing in the Conference and proving himself? Cheers Steve!

Has everybody missed the point here??? We've let one of our best players go to one of our biggest rivals to help them stay in the conference...... F**K that.... I want Hayes down in the Ryman League and Daly back in our defence where he belongs...... If this isn't something to do with money I'll be very surprised.

Personally I would like Steve to stay. You know that Steve is not one of the players who will hide when things are going wrong, plus he is club captain.
Personally, I think it's 50% - 50% whether he stays or goes
Also can Hayes afford his wages?
From what I can make of it, and I may be wrong, but I think it's a footballing decision to let him go to Hayes rather than a financial one.
Mind you saying that he could be back this Saturday playing for Slough, but I doubt it!
I saw Steve play last night, and when I turned up and saw him I was shocked. Saw Wilko in the stand though and he put me right on the situation.
One of the funny moments I thought I heard last night was when a ball went out of play and Steve shouted 'YELLOW' when Hayes were playing in blue! Doh!!

OK matt point taken Club captain, and a genuine committed player for the club. But where were you when he sold mautone short at MAidenhead, or stumbled to let in a goal at Thame, Wembly and others. Sorry we dont agree on a lot like the goalkeeper who has save five penalties in a row who you think is crap.

Daly like all our players has been inconsistent but never uncommitted. The real question is why has he gone, it is not as if we have a lot of defensive cover for Macpherson and Stott.

Daly was not at fault for the goal at Maidenhead as Mautone dawdled on the ball for an age and got caught out. I didn't see the Wembley game so I can't comment but I can't recollect him being at fault for any goal against Thame. Mautone may save penalties but that is one small part of his job. I have never doubted his quality at shot-stopping but his handling from crosses and his unwillingness to come from his line to claim high balls has cost us dearly in recent matches. I will be sorry to see Daly go for one main reason, his commitment to the club. Apart from Browne, Denton and the two donkeys he is (was) our longest serving member of the footballing staff and he has been a great servant to the club in his time here. If you are off Steve then good luck for the future and you'll always have fans at Wexham Park.

You must be talking about a different match.
Daly tried to shepherd the ball out and it wasnt going on that mud heap - Dalys misjudgment. The Maidenhead forward closed him down so he hit a week backpass which left Mautone stranded. He shold have hit a positive ball or belted it out of play for a corner.
Mautoone does share some of the blame becuase unlike McCann he doesnt call for the ball or at least not loudly enough. But only 5%

I must have missed the point. Daly was not captain.

Daly has not scored a league goal for us.

Daly dominated in the air against Aylesbury and we were stuffed because of his lack of positional play and anticipation.

Daly showed his true fornm against maidenhead - a typical Daly blunder that cost us a goal, and a match

Daly has lost us more matches than he has won.

I am not sorry to see him go.
