Slough 1 Ford 2

Ford shaded this one, but not by much. 2 poor goalkeeping errors against a good goal from Hakki. New number 11 worse than Junior Harvey, and yet again our forwards created little---they are totally off the boil.

Today was a funny match in my opinion - It was not a good game, but you could not say it was a bad game either. It was an OK game.
Zepherin made 2 mistakes for the goals and it was disappointing to concede the goals, but fair play to him - He's certainally an entertainer with his dribbling out of the box!!
As for the match. Veli scored a great goal, but that was about all he did all match. He must be involved more cos he is such a good player.
The good news is that Ford look certain to go up -if not be champions and they are no better than us. So we have this side for next season if we can keep these players together.
I think we would have beaten them if Hawthorne, CJ, Mautone and Roach played - Why were they not playing?
It is a bit worrying though at the moment as we seem to not look like scoring and probably need another creative midfielder.
As for Junior Kadi, I felt sorry for him. He has not been a regular at Woking all season and is no way a left winger.
It's a new club and you don't get as much time in this league as the Conference.
He needs time to adjust and quite frankly, although he did have a stinker (which he will probably agree with) I thought it was appauling what certain comments about him were being called out. Give the bloke a chance for gawd sake and encourage him. blush.gif" border="0

We are a fair way off being a promotion side at present--though how much wages, or lack of them, have to do with this, who knows.
Why the new bloke played on the left wing, when we have 3 people for that position, god alone knows.

I honestly feel that this poor run of results coinside with wages not being paid! Still will Ford go up with their facilities? We have to admit though we were beaten by a Works social club! And the only reason Deaner wont dump Browne is the simple fact he works half the season for no wages! He couldn't afford a real coach, Where's his son? he normally dissappears when the pennies dry up. he still around?

Tough sh*t if it was his home debut. Did we sign him without watching him and if we did watch him why did we sign him? CJ I understand was injured but where was Juniour Haynes who was a substitute (used) against Maidenhead. Why was Kadi signed to play left side when we have Barrowcliffe, CJ, Gilkes and Haynes who have all played this season in that very position. Kadi is just another financial burden on the club. If we lose good players and replace them with the likes of him we are f*cked. It does not help that he came from the Woking scum as it reminds us of where we should be....The Conference!!!!

It's quite a long time since Ford Utd were a "works social club"......whatever, they're considerably better run than we are - an old mate plays for them and is very content there - wish our players were.....
"We belong in the Conference"? Don't make me laugh......we're WAY, WAY, WAY out of that league now......

Couple of things which *NEED* to happen over the summer.
1) Secure a ground. Whether it be a new site to develop and a groundshare for two years or an extension to the current lease.
2) Halve the wage bill. Or at very least significantly reduce it. Certain players in the squad could be shown the door without being missed who are probably on a very good wage (Kadi, McPherson - maybe, Mautone, Gilkes, Daly - maybe, Ullathorne - maybe)
3) Help the STSA with the summer work. Every year they appeal for help, every year it's largely the same faces there.
4) Sort out Martn Deaner. Either he pays the money to the players on time all season, or he leaves. It's quite simple. He's done some excellent work with the council in trying to kick butts there, and all the money he's put in eventually, but the club can't carry on being run like this.
5) Get an STSA member on the board whoever is in charge. They are highly respected by the club officials and the supporters deserve a voice on the board at every club.
6) Sort out the two moaning old gits who stand on the pass gate. Someone needs to teach them some manners, and also how to pay at the game. They are the only people who don't pay (Players and officials aside)
7) Establish improved links with the Slough Express, Slough Observer, Slough Council, Slough Jets & Star FM regardless of what has gone on in the past.
8) Get some marketing going in favour of the club whether it be posters up in High St shops, adverts in local papers or whatever
9) Get players to do more in the local community i.e. training sessions in schools to coincide with free tickets.
10) Get more local players who may show that bit more passion about the club.
11) Sort out a youth policy so we can actually build another set of players in the Owusu, Stowell mould which we could then sell on and profit from. I thought that would be what the Capital League side would be for.
That's all for now.... No doubt there will be more!

Absolutely correct Gary, neigh forget sum of us have bin saying this for years, however the only area i would be a tinsy whinsy critical,is the suggestion of putting a STSA member within the club, the idea is OK but if I owned the club with other individuals I wouldn't want a person's opinion with no financial involvement?

If I was in charge of the club (Or a club) god forbid, I would want a respected voice of the fans on the board to keep it touch with the 'real people' running the club and financing it. Without the fans, and without knowing what the fans want, the club dies?
That would be my reasoning anyway.

Content? Presumably with lowish wages, paid regularly, No prima donnas who played at a higher level and think they just have to turn up, and a chairman who is approachable and knows what he's doing.
Perhaps we could learn a lesson from that approach.
