Publicity - Using the Forum and other ways

Following the incident of people turning up on the wrong night last Tuesday, we need to get messages like that out quickly. BFR's comment about ring before you leave is quite right for seeing if the match is off, but our opportunities of letting people know changes at short notice are quite limited. We do need to have a way of letting people know about things like this so do we have any idea of how many STFC Fans actually access this forum? Is there any way we can find out - obviously the registered are logged up and presumably the administrators can see who they are, but is there any way to see how many specific individuals access this forum?

Obviously some of these will be old friends and rivals from other clubs, but it should give us an idea of what proportion of fans actually look at the forum. Is this any different to the number who access the Official Site or for that matter Nathan's or the Swedish Rebels. Is there any way we can collect as many fan's email addresses as possible?

On another point, sitting near Martyn Deaner on Saturday, when the attendance was announced, better though it was, I got the impression he would like to see more people coming along!!! It was the way he shouted "Bring a friend!" that was the giveaway!

So, we perhaps we need more publicity to reach the casual fan, (and sorry to bang on about it), but if we could get some smaller fixture posters, A4 or A5 in size, these might be a possibility to spread the news more widely. I am happy to help get them produced, but would anybody be prepared to distribute them around the various places they could go - Barber's shops, newsagents etc. People know their own areas best for the best places to do this. If these sites want paying a weekly fee perhaps we could get some lined up to found out how much cash we need and then ask for contributions? Publicising the "Bring a kid for £1" announced by Roy might also be good. If that was a constant promotion we could put it on the posters.

I believe the bring a kid for a quid promotion is just for the Salisbury game at the moment. If you could obtain a quote for the A4/A5 posters that would be great and then it could be put to the Trust board and/or Roy. I am sure plenty of people would be willing to distribute them.

On the forum, I don't know what the admin people see differently to the rest of us but from the info the rest of us see we cannot tell who looks at what forum. I know BFR will not have internet capabilities for the rest of the week but I will ask him and come back to you.
