yes i think paula really proved the sceptics wrong.. in no way did she give up once she lost touch with the leaders.. nor were the taody commentators slighty embarrassed when after saying shes no quitter she stopped.. of course a highly trained athelete like her could never be expected to finish the race in case she got a bit tired ..

Paula Radcliffe astounded British Olympic officials today by making the entire distance from her seat to the toilet at the back of the plane.

 

Said BOC Chairman. "It was a superb effort by our golden girl. Despite being in row 48, Paula gutsed it out and only had one stop to burst into tears at the half-way stage between rows 49 and 50".

 

BOC officials plan to use video footage of her epic run (her 2nd and a half in 8 days) to appeal against her marathon and 10 000m withdrawals citing "unfair conditions" deliberately put in place by Greek organisers - who managed 52nd and 31st place in the respective races. "The Greeks deliberately built hills and turned off the air conditioning to make things difficult for Paula - and look how well their own athletes did - it's a disgrace!" fumed un-named BOC official, Simon Clegg (73). "That run today on BA5046 meant she covered 23 miles in 2 minutes. That is almost World Record pace for Paula."

 

British athletes plan to hand back in their BOC lapel pins in protest at Paula having to pay for her own hankies.
