Grays in midweek.

[color:"blue"]Last season we were outrun by Grays at Homelands and in Essex. Tuesday we meet them again, three days after Leroy Griffiths has just stuffed four past Lewes. Time for Edwards & Ward to start understanding each other.

I sadly predict a 5-2 defeat.

Thurgood and Griffiths outpaced us last year ,so goodness knows what will happen this year.

Will it be a bad thing to have a crushing defeat?

Maybe not as the penny might sink that we are one short in midfield ,and the defence is just not good enough.Thats before injuries and suspensions.

I remain grateful that we have a team at all, and my expectations are simply to stay in this league. However, as things are, i think we are bottom six material, and facing a relegation fight.

I just hope from somewhere, the funds can be found to seriously strengthen those positions, to take us to mid table at least.

Oterwise, relegation threatens, which would make anty ground progress unviable for all parties.

Seven Simple Steps for Beating Grays

1- close 'em down

2- match their physical prowess

3- man mark

4- tackle hard

5- pass accurately

6- score more goals than them

7- when all else fails, arrange a floodlight failure

One out in my prediction.

As posted, hopefully this was a blessing in disguise, and is (hopefully was)a reality check and exposed the very serious shortcomings in certain positions.

quite a few teams have bounced back from real drubbings-Dagenham 9-2 against hereford last season for example
