ETFC play on Sundays

Recommended Posts

Disappointed that a 3pm kick-off has been announced. I agree with LS, a 1pm or 2pm kick-off seemed like the obvious choice. It's a pity as I believe the attendance will suffer.

I hope the club isn't stating to become a 'closed shop' ,where only certain peoples opinions count (ie- those who help out, or attend work parties..etc).

It seems that the opinions of us ordinary fans don't count for anything. (those fans that just put money into the club by turning up for every game, buy programmes, buy 50/50 tickets..etc).

I deliberately did not raise the gooner effect.

I find it sad that we are debating Tottenham on the TV v ETFC at all (or Arsenal on the box for that matter) There are probably just as many Man u fans living in Enfield (sad tho I find that).

Whatever time the kick off is it will annoy someone. Moving the game from traditional 3.00 Saturday will affect someone. It cannot be helped.

So you are saying that it is my fault now that we have a 3.00 kick off, I think not. Basically I don't care what time kick off is, as long as we get a game.

I think you will find that it is down to the 2 clubs fixture secretarys to sort it out whatever decission is made I will go with the flow.

I think you have lost the plot about ETFC being a "Closed Shop" not at all, it is still owned by the Fans & run by the Fans.

You have to bear in mind that St Ives is not 5 minutes down the Road, its a fair trek for them to travel. Whatever time Kick off was arranged someone would moan would'nt they. You are entitled to your opinions after all, but if you are that fussed about a Spurs game on TV, then you have the choice to watch it don't you?

I Know what I would sooner do, watch the Town in The Vase, thats if I ever get a chance to watch any of a Home Game!!!

The good thing about ETFC is that no individual is bigger than the club, or will ever be. One person does not make all the decisions because we do not want to go down that route again.

All right, we all have the right to our opinions, and one of those opinions could be that people are dissatified with the way things are run. If that's the case, then 'ordinary' people can gain access to the board and become directors and then make decisions. The board are an elected group from the society who make decisions on behalf of the club. Surely they should not have to consult supporters at every turn?

In terms of the game. If the secretaries took everybody's opiions on board, then we would never play.

Let's hope people who do not watch us play on Saturdays because of other committments turn out in force with the usual dedicated supporters who will all get behind the team.

LS, I've always had a good laugh with your postings, but I am afraid you have lost the plot here. For God sake stop acting like a ninny and just accept that the game will be kicking off at 3pm and decide if you want to watch TV football or get some fresh air. Think of the opposition eh?How long will it take St Ives to get here? Would you like to get up early and travel to Brimsdown just because one supporter wants to see his TV football? Maybe you can do the catering and the security and let Gilli and Dave have a rest for a change.

It seems to me LS that you think only YOUR opinion counts. Do you see a big queue for a 1pm start? 3pm means I can have my dinner and 1pm means I cannot. Thank you ENFIELD TOWN for preserving that great British tradition of Sunday lunch with the family at "get-over-it" Towers!

Quite right, except we usually have ours at 3.00 so we can watch the Footie at 4.00. We've usually watched the Premiership Plus Game by then.

Who says you can't do housework etc etc & watch the Footie, I do.

FA Cup Game tomorrow I'm getting excited now!!

Didn't think you could move a tradition to accomodate a football match on TV!

We can't do that. Regarding the bloke who has to have his sunday lunch at 1.00pm every sunday, apparently the only night of the week that his missus doesn't have a headache is 8.00pm on a friday night.

Apparently they like routine in that household.

I go to Morrisons to do my Shopping on a Friday Night!

I suppose we could have hired another Pitch. How much would that have cost then?
