Billy told me before the match I didn't want to believe it! It is always a shame when class players hang up their boots at such a young age whatever the reasons!

But he felt he needed to spend more time with his wife and son who knows we might be watching Little Covey in a few years time! And as I have got eight grandchildren and the ninth due to be born New years day I'm sure we will be kept busy. Good Luck to you for the future keep in touch. Pat Cove x

Billy , If you read this i would just like to say thank you for the laughs you have giving me thru the yearsw of watching non league football , i first saw you at leyton pennant and saw you many times after that (maidenhead) (enfield town) you are a classic type centre forward abit like john hartson but you have bags more skill and you play with a smile on your face . ive heard many fans doubt you in the 1st minute but rave about you after 90 . You are unique billy and will be very dearly missed , good luck .

P.S to anyone whos interested since hanging the boots up i have lost nearly a stone so if i can keep this up i will brush off the cobwebs next year and get my boots back on if someone will have me !

Billy - did not mean any offence - it was humour (allegedly) anway would rather see you with a 9 on your back than a 1.

 

I'd love to see you back playing; as long as it was for ETFC; would not want to se you playing against us!!
