Slough Town 1-0 Wealdstone

Ian and Tony were not the only scorers last season.

If Ian is rested (or used as sub?) the others will have a chance to show what they are made of, and will also allow them to develop.

Also, if Hodgey's injury is 'mild enough' that he can play on it, presumably it would only take a short rest to recover?

Thanks, Derek, for letting us know - I must admit I thought he looked a bit out of sorts, but it is worrying that we have to play our star striker whilst injured. He still keeps sticking them in though, doesn't he? I can't wait to see him when he's back fully fit!

Come on you other attackers, let's see somebody taking responsibility to help him out! Have a go - we can't walk them all in - look at Hodgy's goal on Saturday, the keepers won't save them all!

Surely we should give the opposition some credit, Wealdstone were not a bad side, they did'nt deserve to loose and were much better than Harrow. However I thought we did look better with Haddow and Harris on the pitch. Hodgey needs help upfront, Seedal was not at the races on Saturday and Harris can be better employed. The midfield we are using at the moment will not score enough goals, we do need another goalscorer. Finally how good it is to see a decent goalkeeper, he gives the defence much more confidence, coming for crosses etc. Feel sorry for Parkin however he also looked good in the pre-season games.

I thought that Alex Haddow had a very good game on saturday and we created more down the left hand side than we have done for a while, rather than using josias on the right all the time. I would like to see Glen given a run in the team alongside or rather just behind Hodgey as it will give oposing defenders more to think about, cos glen can pick up the ball deeper and has the ability to run at defenders. So if Hodgey does need a rest who would we play up front on tuesday? Harris with Spencer/Seedal/Miller or Deaner. Personally if hodgey can`t play tomorrow i would like to see Harris and either Deaner or Spencer up front

I think you will find that as the season progresses Wealdstone will prove themselves to be a distinctly average side. I believe they will stay up based on there strong defence but will struggle for goals.

As for Hodges, he is blatantly injured. When I saw him at the Abingdon game he was wearing strapping from knee to ankle and clearly favoured the other leg. I thought there was no way he would play on the Saturday against Dover and said as much at the time. But there he was leading the line and scoring the goal and then again on Wednesday and again this weekend. He has got three in three for Christ sake. Given that he is carrying a knock that is hugely impressive and once again goes to show what a fantastically committed and hardworking guy he is. Legend.

I guess he is like me wants to play football all the time. Clearly he is still effective. Not a question I can answer though. Save it for the next time that "Dom asks Eddie."
