Gripes With The Club - Chris S I'm Aiming This At You

Chris, I'm after some reasoning on a couple of issues that I have come up with and also continuing on the trend started yesterday of picking on you.
STSA Sponsorships. The sponsor a goal scheme. Where is it? Last season when I participated, there was nobody chasing me for the money at the end of the season, I have no idea how much I paid and therefore how much I owed to the club for it. I presume that would be the same for everybody else who participated in the scheme. Why is this?
Player sponsorships. Exactly the same as above this season and last. There is no chasing on the STSA behalf, although there should be.
Coach travel. I understand why the coach prices were all set at £10 but many of the people don't. Can this please be cleared up as to why there is a flat rate for coaches this season.

Yesterday at Aylesbury, there were posters, announcements on the tannoy, messages in the programme about the well priced coach travel. This doesn't seem to be the case anymore at Slough, why? Details aren't passed onto us at the website which would be another way of getting people on the coach??
Quashing rumours. Obviously certain people in the STSA are privvy to more information than other supporters. Some of this information can be made public, and I think that the STSA could help quash some rumours by announcing some of these things, or perhaps, announcing them through a statement from Roy (As happened at the weekend??)
Just a couple of points which I am sure you will appreciate tongue.gif" border="0

[/QB]

I can clear up why we get such great advertising for the coach at Aylesbury - it's because the fans are the ones who run it. We do the posters, ask Dave on the tannoy to read it out etc.. We also do it so cheap because we only do it to get people to away games not make a profit (we just about break even) and so charge the same for every trip apart from Bognor and Worthing.

To Clear up the points raised..
Firstly I am dissapointed that the impression is that the STSA are never available to answer questions ......come on every one we are there match days at our sportters HQ...to answer any questions ......if we can....
We are open and have never tried to lead people up the garden path...
Our coach travel is at the best we can do ...with only about 15-20 people travelling...

We are currently runing at about 500-600 pounds down ...because of the poor support for the coach.
The prices is so, because we have to run a small coach which saves us over 40 pounds per coach than a big one ! the price for the coach is approx 225 - 260 per journey ...a price which can not be bettered unless you get doddgy coaches to run them for you....
So a magician will tell you if we have 26 seats it cost 10 per head just to cover costs...so if only 15-20 people travel we loose 60 pounds per trip !....The cost of coaches around slough are much more expensive than from Aylesbury... we even got quotes from Brittania from Hitchin to cut costs but the coaches were not reliable !
We announce the times and prices in the programme and at the game and supporters corner is always open to take coach bookings at each home match the details are also posted on the supporters corner notice board....

People book the coach and then letb us down...in fact we at STSA pride ourselves we have given good service to the supporters of Slough for over 21 years....taking losses of approx 600-1000 pounds every year just to provide a service for those who do not have transport to get to Slough matches. They are also insured against cancellation of the match.
Quashing rumours ......Let me say here and now we are NOT privey to any certain information that you all think.....We are here to help our club not hinder it....and Help we will do...in any way we can....not just when times were good....

and some news we hear is better being kept, as our club is not in a good shape and we sometimes don't need extra scandal because we are able to help and sort the problem out.....
Sponsorship in general.....as I have said many many times we need all of our supporters to help in this matter... Ted a job for you next season...you can have a post on the STSA marketing team to raise funds for next season....??? because we need someone to do this...for us.....and all our supporters to fund the STSA FUNDS , SO WE CAN BE PREPARED !!

for any outcome..............

We have a supporters meeting on Wednesday this week...and if anyone wants to attend and put points over to us you are most welcome to come at 7-45 pm to meet us and put your voice forward.
This inviation stands for our supporters and has always been in place...just ask at supporters corner on match days and you will always be told when the next meeting takes place allowing you to put your points over to us...
I have given Slough 21 years of service to STSA and STFC and it now seams that maybe I have become too stale and lack the will, to go on and maybe should stand down at the end of this season...for all the new members who have good and new ideas and should take the helm and try and steer this ship through the mine field .....
Its up to you guys we need help or we die...

we need new blood and new ideas....so over to you!

to let me know what you want....and how to get it...
This tears me a part as much as you feel with the way Slough has been treated, and I don't have the answers anymore....
We at STSA do try our best and if our best is not good enough it is time for us to retire.
please step forward.....
its your turn.....
regards Chris sliski

STSA

For Aylesbury to say we don't run coaches for losses....come to slough and try to do the same...

I think they would fail....

The sponsor a goal scheme is up and running and always been run by Alan Harding. please contact Alan Harding in the club HQ !

Chris, you are fully aware of what a good job we all think you do and it was not and never intended to be a personal dig.
Questions were raised at the Aylesbury game and I just wanted to make them public so people were aware of the reasoning behind it.
I & many others will keep plugging the ideas into you, as your reputation with both Roy & Martin D and at the council is half the reason why the club is still here.
If you are true to your motto, you wouldn't even consider stepping down.....

Thanks Gary and Matt....
I know it was not a dig Gary personally to me..and thanks for the comments.....
But really if we are to go forward we need help

STSA and its committee can go stale and we do need new blood and ideas......and workers this summer to give our ground a lick of paint and tidy up....not the few that turn in every week !
Many hands make lite work.....
STFC is too presious to loose and is the reponsible of all its supporters....
The coach can make break even if people travel by coach .....no doubt....we did this when we were successful on the pitch ! but most of the slough crowd go by car these days... nothing wrong with that, but we can not break even with only 20 people travelling....impossible.
Cheers Chris
