New Ground

I have been reading this forum for the last six months and found it both informative and entertaining. Hornchurch is a great club and is certainly going places. I have a question which I hope can be answered here. If (or rather when) The Urchins gain promotion to the Conference at the end of this season will The Stadium be suitable for Conference football or will a new ground have to be found? It would be heartbreaking if we gain promotion but could not take our rightful place in the Conference due to our ground not meeting the required minimum standard. I am not sure the local Council can be relied upon to assist as I can remember the problems Romford had in the 70's with a less than receptive local Council. Of course things may have moved on since then.

I have heard whispers about a site near Gerpins Lane for a new stadium, but it's unsubstantiated!

we are looking at several sites before we decide which is the best one....

 

whatever happens...if we get promoted...we'll be going up....should we spend another year at the stadium...(which is likely)...it will be brought up to conference standard before the deadline date....we know what work is needed and its not that much...

Good news indeed sir. It is comforting to know that promotion will not be jeopardised by the fitness of The Stadium to host Conference games. Thank you for taking the time to answer my query. Now I shall probably disappear back into the shadows - but I shall be reading the Forum on a daily basis. As I said before, it is most entertaining, and as you have proved, most informative.
