Well I will expect you to lead us loadly come Saturday then Graham. It was good Saturday but it did have a lot to do with the surroundings. The ground was probably the best I have been to for a while.

Whilst Tooting had a nice new ground, it was not a proper football stadium like the Crabble.

We will have to see what we can do to improve things at "home".

Mal,

We were talking about the perspex in the stand last night and wondered if it was removed for the bottom three/four feet all the way up from front to back, it would open up a clear window to enable people to see sufficient of the pitch corner, without opening it up entirely to the weather? Alternatively and much more expensively, would be removing it altogether and extending the roof out a way.

The stand at Wexham Park was open at the sides and I don't remember it being a problem of rain comng in, except in the odd really vicious wind.

I think that the roof extension would have to be a non starter due to the roof being asbestos, and before anyone says anyting it is safe until it gets broken up. This would require work from specialist companies to remove and 'destroy' the asbestos which is removed.

As for the perspex we seem to suufer with the wind blowing from end to end rather than side to side, I think you know what I mean. So removing the perspex wouldn't be the greatest idea.

Maybe repacing the bottom three or four foot of perspex is an idea?

I know there are plans for the stand to be rebuilt, but then again these plans have been around for the past twelve years!!!!
