Slough Town 2-0 Harrow Borough full-time

Yep, nice to move off the bottom and get some points on the board. We did not play as well as Saturday, but I felt we never really had to as we were always in control. I felt and could have stepped up another gear if needed. Can't remember Jake Whincup making a save. Harrow had some nice build up play, but poor end product.

Murph was probably MOM or Daly. Although Harrow never tested our goal they had a fair amount of the ball. The diffence between this division and Div 1 is that we won't have 60% of the game in their half - it's ganna be a lot more difficult this year, but a pleasing result. Roll on Saturday!

In the other game tonight Eastleigh drew with Hampton. Every Slough fans favourite opposition player and former Slough youth team legend Jamie Jarvis ;-) scored and then cleverly got himself sent-off when Hampton were 3-1 ahead.

I think Harrow did have a couple of efforts on goal in the first half, one a free-kick which Whincup saved low to his left and another (slightly awkward) save. Overall a pleasing performance, although like on Saturday, sometimes the build-up play was nice but lacking in a final ball or shot on goal. My MOM would be Daly, I didn't see him put a foot wrong. Saulsbury had a couple of 'mares at the back in the second half, let's hope he can get over those. Whincup was largely untested in the second half. Let's hope the team can carry this kind of performance over to Saturday.

A midweek attendance on a wet night, clashing with an England game on the tv and with a small handful of away supporters - the attendance was never going to be very big. The match wasn't particularly good but the result was important. Three points on the board and off the mark. With the games coming thick and fast we could not afford to remain pointless.

I felt the footballw e played on Saturday was superior to what was on display last night, but given the conditions that was perhaps not surprising. However, a deserved win even if the football wasn't pretty so well done to the boys for grafting it out.

The referee was a bit of a strange one. There were a large number of meaty challenges made by both sides, though most came from the Harrow number 4, yet I did not see one booking in the entire match. Perhaps he left his cards at home. Who is to say?

Anyway, three points on a wet wednesday night is just the tonic following the defeat on Saturday. I was impressed with Matt Seedel and thought he was unlucky not to have got on the scoresheet - that seems to be a trait for No.10s call Matt.

Well done Eddie and the boys. Bring on Saturday

I thought Carbon was one of the best players last night, endlessly creating chances down the right. Veli also had an industrious game, lots of good hard challenges and ball winning in the midfield and up front although he didn't score, I thought Seedal looked more threatening than Miller. His height and strength are definately an advantage Miller hasn't got.

Overall, I thought we were like the old Arsenal team- dull but effective. I just don't think the midfield is right yet. I would like to see Chopper and Haddow back to provide more energy and creativity. BTW, spoke to Matty Miller and he said he will be fit to play on Saturday but will he be picked???

After the Dover game, i thought last night was a bit of a non event - crap weather, no crowd, footie not up to much and as usual not much atmosphere (but full marks to those behind the goal for trying. My excuse is i didn't bring a coat and two hours on a train all soggy ain't my idea of fun).

Sorry to bang on about this but is it worth looking into how much it would cost to cover both ends, cos let's face it we could be at stag meadow for quite some time. In the second half a few of us went into the stand - first two rows you got wet and at the back the perspex is so scratched and dirty you couldn't see the Harrow goal area (cue windsor fans jumping down my throat).

As for the programme, which is excellent as usual - is it possible the away guide can include a little train info and also a food guide. I want to support clubs and spend my money at their grounds, but the food especially for a veggie, is ...er, chips. Be good for the supporters trust page to put something about people putting up posters to advertise games.

I'll stop moaning now

Disappointed for a number of reasons. Horrible weather, but can't help that. Low crowd, reasons already stated. Awful game, though result was good. BUT, more importantly, WHERE OH WHERE was our little mascot with the half time entertainment...I know he was there...saw him sitting in the stand with a few of the players...he was stripped off with his boots on getting encouragement from Matt, Nick , Alex etc....then....nothing. What a let down!!!

There are some fair points there BR.

The last I heard about cover behind the goal is that we were waiting for planning permission and will then be getting quotes for the work.

As for the perspex, it doesn't matter what you put in there, within a few months it's back to its frosted style.

Thanks for that Mal, some encouragement for once.

Not much to add on the game. I was hugely disappointed with the crowd and expect to see much better figures for the rest of the season.

It is hard work getting anything going song wise at the Stag it just seems pointless whereas at Dover under the covering it felt like we were actually being heard.

I thought Murphy was excellent again last night, Mets and Hakki had good games and the skipper was sensational at the back.

The stat-tastic Gary pointed out that Daly is now 2 short of the 200 appearance mark for the Rebels. Quite an achievement that.

A good result pleased to have got off the mark, hoping for a bit of sunshine and another three points come Saturday.

Come on you Rebels.
