From the Bucks Herald...
NOW'S THE TIME TO GET BEHIND US

AYLESBURY United boss Cliff Hercules has appealed for supporters to get behind the team ahead of this weekend's crunch game with Slough Town.
The Ducks have lost their last two league games and have slipped to third spot in Ryman Division 1. Now this weekend's clash with promotion rivals Slough has taken on great importance, and Hercules wants big support for his boys.

"I just want to ask the supporters not to panic and to get behind the team on Saturday.

"I want lots of noise, lots of encouragement and lots of cheering from our supporters. It is becoming very tense now, but we don't want the supporters transmitting that onto the field."

The Ducks are looking to complete a hat-trick of victories over seventh placed Slough, having beaten them in the league and FA Trophy already this season, and Hercules is looking forward to the game.

"It is a great game for us to bounce back with, as we're at home, it is a local derby and the players will be really up for it."

The game gives ex-Duck Kieran Gallagher the chance to return to his old stamping ground for the first time since he left last February for Dagenham and Redbridge.

The popular winger, who joined Slough in November, is suspended for the clash, but will be at Buckingham Road on Saturday.

He said, "I'm looking forward to going back. I can't wait as I had six great years there and it will be great to see everyone again. I'm just gutted that I'm suspended for the game."

The Ducks went down to a 1-0 defeat at lowly Wealdstone on Saturday, their second away loss in five days, and Hercules was disappointed with the performance.

"We were lacklustre and we just didn't do enough. We didn't create enough chances and we made nothing happen for us," he said.

Hercules added that his preparations for the game had not been helped by the loss of Steve Clark who felt his calf go in the warm-up.

Clark is a doubt for the Slough game, but the Ducks have been boosted with the news that skipper Scott Honeyball is available for selection again in the short-term.

The 22-year-old defender has been out since January after his left shoulder popped out twice during games.

He is due to have an operation on the shoulder on Monday April 15, but until then he will be available to play and he made a brief appearance as a substitute at Wealdstone on Saturday.

Hercules said: "We have heard that it won't make the shoulder any worse if he plays between now and the operation.

"It will be great for the team if Scott comes back, as he lifts the team and brings some fire to the game."

Honeyball added: "I just want to get as fit as I can now and be available for selection until I have the operation.

"My aim is to have the operation done as quickly as it can be done, so that I can concentrate on being fit for the start of next season."

Hercules admits he is concerned about the drop in confidence that the Ducks have shown in their last two games, saying: "Some of the players just didn't perform, and maybe the pressure is beginning to get to them as there are a lot of young players.

"I just hope that the players are not doubting their ability with these poor results.

"To be honest, I'm worried the players are maybe thinking about the importance of the games too much, and not enjoying the games the way they were.

"We have just got to relax them and make sure there is no panic."
