Match on??

That is a bit like asking how long is a piece of string at this stage. I'm pretty confident that it'll be fine come kick off but obviously if there is a huge downpour just before kick-off then the match could be in doubt. At this stage, until notice is given that the match is off, treat the game as if it is on, but ring the ground before you head off.

Be fair to Mr Franco.

First thing, here in Bracknell, it absolutely persistently rained down (soom after 09:00) for maybe twenty minutes - since when it has been fine.

Now (16:00), odd patches of bright sunshine...

...between very dark clouds!

Just think yourself lucky that you are not in Northern Scotland where, according to BBC Online Weather service, this evening there will be 'organised rain'.

I gave simple advice that I find myself putting on here everytime a match may come into question. Treat a game as on until you hear otherwise, and ring the ground before setting off to be sure. It isn't brain surgery, it is common sense which is something that I can't claim to have an abundance of, but in this case I do.

I regularly consider myself lucky to not live in Northern Scotland.

That said if Mr Franco thinks my sarcasm was out of line then I apologise. I wrote my initial response soon after getting some bad news which has compounded on a week already filled with bad news.

Sorry BFR, didn't mean to criticise - 'be fair' was just a light-hearted turn of phrase, no more, no less. (Sorry to hear about your bad week - hope things improve soon).

Quite agree with your comments - it makes great sense to ring the ground if there is any doubt over the match taking place. Only problem is that there is no contact number provided on the STFC website (yet) [nor any directions, Chris/Gary please note!], so this could be difficult for new supporters.

The number I have for WEFC is 01753 860656.

I think it might be worth ringing this number this evening - from my office window at the moment, I cannot see anything currently as the rain is too heavy! (My office is 10 miles by road from Stag Meadow).

It is raining but nothing torrential - yet. Lets go back to that nice simple advice - treat the game as on unless you hear otherwise, but ring the club before you leave to be certain.

Now then, that's not too difficult is it???

But that only wasn't called off because there was no other day on which to play the game. After numerous torrential downpours in Maidenhead there are only a few large puddles at York Road. Surprise .

BFR should clearly have taken me up on that bet as I am now entirely confident the game will be on. Be there.

If in doubt annoy windsor by calling in advance.

I hadn't realised how many responses my initial question would raise!!! Anyway, I am not at all bothered by BFR's sarcasm or anyone else's comments.....in fact, as per usual, it is easy to see why our fans are some of the best in the league as they all seem to be prepared to get involved and help.
