What the f**k....

Zeal, there's plenty more we're short of for a decent set-up.

We had only one chance in the first half, a header that went over. They went 3-0 and were cruising, thus taking their feet off the gas pedals. We score so they prove they're cruising by scoring again. We score another so they think sod this, we'll score once more and shut up shop.

It was poor last night.

Welling probably had about four chances plus a few half chances and scored five (one was poor goalkeeping).

The defending in the middle was abysmal, not helped by Parker being played up front just behind Crawshaw.

We did play some good football occasionally, and didn't just lump it forwards (not much point really, with just Crawshaw up front) and created quite a few chances, especially in the second half, but didn't trouble the keeper much.

Thomas I thought played well when he was going forward.

Three players short of a decent squad in my opinion.

Three players? Are you sure, Rob? When you play with only one recognised forward who clearly isn't fully fit and comes off after an hour, you are asking for trouble. We would have been better off giving Cogger or Parkinson a go. At least they have some pace. Parker is a quality player but he is not a forward. The midfield is still the problem as it was the whole of last season. It is dire. Can no-one else see that? Of the midfield that played last night, only Hann looked the part and I'd like to know why he has been on the bench for the last 2 games - stupidity in the extreme. Greg Deacon, were you ever needed as you are now, mate? We have to play Hann, Deacon, and Parker plus 1 in the midfield, when Deacon returns. I can only assume that Okai has gone. And what the fk is happening with this McBreen fiasco, we should have been sorting this out weeks ago. It was an accident waiting to happen.

We shouldn't be too hard on the defence last night, either. That is not where the problem is. When you have to soak it up all game due a sorry attack and an inept midfield in front of you, something eventually has to give.

I got to thinking last night. Of the 3 players who really bossed the play off game at Bedford, one is still away on holiday, one has gone off to Fisher and the other has been played out of position in both of the opening games. Mmmn.

On last Saturday's showing, I would have said that at least Sutton will finish below us but Rains will actually address their shortcomings.

This is going to be a very long season.

Seriously,.. surprised to see your result last night. By the sound of it you played defensively [one up front] as it was....so...erm.....unless your lot learn how to suffocate a game [like Thurrock] then it's gonna be tough.

Did Jamie play?

JKIF...I'm currently in the "laying flat on my back position"...hence why I cant be a proper scarfer for a while.

GHA: As for Jamie...centre-midfield or centre-half. I preferred him in the midfield role. Read the game well, mopped up, tackled hard and put through some telling passes for us last year.

We're only two games in...some of our lot of panicking too!

Absolutely.

I disagree Rob, I'm afraid. I think we're probably eight players and a manager short of a decent set-up.

Like I said yesterday to somebody who suggested we should be supporting the team, this club is currently rotten to the core from top to bottom.
