What the f**k....

How depressing after the heroics at the end of last season.....we clearly don't have a chance at this level with the quality of players/coaching we have and this squad is going to be cruelly exposed by some of the progressive clubs now in this league. If we can't compete financially then we could at least be well organised.

Why don't we have a decent defence and why do we only have one decent striker in the whole club? It is ridiculous!

Welling probably had about four chances plus a few half chances and scored five (one was poor goalkeeping).

The defending in the middle was abysmal, not helped by Parker being played up front just behind Crawshaw.

We did play some good football occasionally, and didn't just lump it forwards (not much point really, with just Crawshaw up front) and created quite a few chances, especially in the second half, but didn't trouble the keeper much.

Thomas I thought played well when he was going forward.

Three players short of a decent squad in my opinion.

We need a whole new defence on last night's showing. After their second goal, which I grant was a trifle lucky but which was assisted buy our keeper's effort to impersonate David Seaman, the team fell apart. The last three goals were all conceded less than one minute after their second and our first and second goals respectively. Concentration, what's that? I can recall at least one other easy chance which Welling should have scored from (right at the start of the second half) plus several other half chances. Contrast that with their keeper only having to make two difficult saves (both of which eventually resulted in our goals; the first led to the corner from which Seeby scored and Hahn bundled in the rebound from the other) and I think the outcome (from a relatively detached point of view) was that the second half performance was shocking. As my son said, if we wanted comedy we would have got BBC3!
