Tonights performance

Okay, I may come under a bit of stick for this post but it must be said.

I know in some peoples minds we, the fans shouldn't get on the teams back after the 1st home game but that was appalling tonight.

People will say 'give them time'. Well I think a full time team would have had more than enough time to muster something better than that.

Hopefully he will prove me wrong but Stephen Clarke looks like he has never played football before. Looks like he got lost on the way to the Olympics. He'd win gold in one of the sprints!

There was no passion, no creativity and no ideas quite frankly.

I sure hope things improve for Saturday.

I agree Raver there was no passion or no heart from the majority of players in tonights game.

Why the hell Shipp started up front i'll never know, he looked slow and his reactions were dismal.

Clark had pace but not much more.

In the second half we were second to the ball a lot in midfield, even though we had the extra player and when we had possesion our distribution was often awful.

Hopefully Elam and Taylor will start the next game as they both looked bright for the little time they were on the pitch.

Right thats my rant finished with, hopefully a better result in the next game.

Not the Hornchurch i know....sorry it has to be said. All this bolox about last seasons players...well not one in the line up or on the bench say's it all for me. I will probabley get slated, but do I give a flying F.....NO....let's just hope we see better.

Looks like a team well out of sorts. But hey what do you expect guy's when not one of the players played together last year!!!!

I'm glad it's not my neck on the line...but i do hope in time everyone will gel...One early goal tonight and it would of been a different story!!!

Hmm, very reminiscent of the sort of starts Canvey made when they were a Ryman league club, generally poor and a little lethargic.

Think the Urchins will get going and if they do, they are well capable of winning 10-15 games on the trot. Seems Havant and Lewes are the teams to watch in that division although Basingstoke and Cambridge are surprising a few. Good result for Grays tonight as well.

Well I Can't Really Say Much As This Is The First Game I've Watched With All The New Signing's !

What Hurts Me Most That There Was Not One Player From Last Season In The Line Up ! Which Is Sad To See !

I Can't Mention One Player Tonight That Put Maximum Effort Into The Game, I Can't Mention One Player Who Ran Around All Night, And I Can't Mention One Player Who Actually Wanted To Win.

What Was All This Business With The Players Just Stopping And Arguing With The Referee While The Ball Was Still In Play ! It Said It All For Me That The Players Are Not Their For The Club They Are There For The Money ... <img src="/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />

I Would Of Liked To See How Our Old Squad Would Of Got On Tonight As I Think We Would Of Won And The Team Would Of Played With A Bit Of Passion For The Club.

What was that crap of an excuse for football tonight? Why are we making excuses for these players who are full-time and paid f***ing wads of money? Get it right GH.Your time is running out

Also, a word on the tactics.

Why take off Wormull? To be fair to the bloke he at least looked interested and was trying to be creative. Think he would be more suited to the centre though.

It seems that all managers have this knack of making substitutions that totally bamboozle the fans. Obviously Taylor coming on was good but it should have been at the expense of Shipp.

Also, why wait until well into the second half to make changes? The team were far from convincing in the first. Just make the changes at half time.

I would have brought on Taylor for Shipp and Elam for Clarke. I can only assume Elam is not yet fully fit. Otherwise he would surely be playing?

One mention actually for McCarthy. He looks solid but he is banned for 3 games now.

Funniest moment of the night was when the woman physio came over to the touchline where we were all standing, shouts of "Is your bum meant to look big in that tracksuit cos it does" and " Put the dinner on luv" could be heard from the HX faithfull.

Ruder shouts were heard whilt she was giving treatment to the Thurrock player, "While your down there luv" and " Pull him off" were some of the funny ones.

Please feel free to remind me of anymore you heard.
