Our old Conference rivals have folded it would appear. Sad news if this is the case....

Hope various councillors are taking note of another club folding...

I was one of the fifty odd Slough nutters who travelled up to Gateshead when we were both in the Conference.

Was vegan at the time and the only thing i could find to eat in town was raisins, so thought f*ck it and ate a cheese toastie, then drunk so many diamond white ciders can't remember hardly anything of the match.

I think half the problem was the stadium which was massive and always empty - i couldn't handle going there every week.

Still, always really sad to see a club fold - could the Trust send a letter or something?

I heard about their plight last week and while in a cab on route to Sunderland from Newcastle airport, I was driven past the International Stadium. I told the cabbie that Gateshead were in trouble and he said he didn't know they were still in business. Unfortunately a non-league club stood that close to a footballing giant is never going to do good business. I hope something can be done to keep the club going.

Shortly after Telford went and Wimbledon they created AFC, any talk about the Gateshead fans reforming as AFC Gateshead?, sorry only just heard this, through your forum. I heard that it was on the cards, did not realise they had gone.

It appears that they are just about hanging in there and will start the season tomorrow. I wish them well.
