CHANGE OF DATES ON FIXTURES

Can anyone tell who gets the dates changed from one date to another.cause when reading the non-league paper i saw that they still had the harrow borough game as a tuesday nite and not wednesday.

This could have been really costly for us with people turning up and not relisaing the dates have changed and cant be bothered to come back.

Is this something that needs to be sorted sooner rather than later.so people like the non-league paper get our fixtures right.

see all you barmy army soon.

I'm pretty sure the non-league paper get all of their dates from the Ryman League and it wouldn't surprise me if they had just been really slack in changing the date on their files. Roy was announcing that the Harrow game had been moved at the Team Bath match so it was known for quite a while. Blame the Rymans as they are the most likley culprits for the misinformation. Just a shame really that the change happened after fixture lists had been given out to locals on Slough High Street

Being optimistic, there is a chance that some people may repond to these fixture lists and try to attend the match tonight. There is little we could do now to prevent them turning up on the wrong night, however it will be very bad PR for the club if there is no indication at the ground that a change of fixture date has taken place.

Does anyone know whether a suitable notice has been posted at the ground?

(Might be even better if someone could be there in person, 'just in case', as this might be better received by any of our new friends.)

Just a thought...

That is a pretty weak argument for the Express to take it that were its reasoning PJ. It is bad enough the club being piggy in the middle in the world of local politics - it really shouldn't be in a similar position with the local press.

I'm not defending the Express for one minute (I've always preferred the Observer anyway :-))

Perhaps, more realistically, the Express is sniffing a different story in the offing. Perhaps, equally, the Observer has a better grasp of the situation, which is why it isn't giving the Mystery Consortium so much coverage (I presume - I have not seen either paper for 2-3 weeks now).

Certainly, STFC should be in a position where the local press is supporting us, and I think that, at last, the Observer is doing just that...though it took a while to happen! Why the Express cannot support us too, who knows?

I thought someone had said it was something to do with Bryce Martin anyway which is why it is getting all the coverage?

As for the fixture alteration, it's not as though many (any?) will be travelling from Harrow anyway, so unfortunately, it's only home support we're losing by not publicising the change well enough.
