It is pillocks like you that think ETFC believe they will win everything; when in fact we have realistic expectations, live with it; or get back in your second rate Italian Whine bottle!!

It is all very well for some people on this forum to say that ETFC fans whinge but if anyone was at the game against Burnham on Saturday, they will have seen one of the worst refereeing performances of all time. Towards the end, even the Burnham players were taking the P**s out of him. Truly awful. Bad referreeing spoilt the game and contributed to tempers getting a bit frayed towards the end. Can we have a referee?

It was actually 3.51am! - You'll find he couldn't sleep because he was having nightmares about The Mighty Town stuffing little Romford!

Three things worried me about ETFC on Saturday:

 

1) although we had plenty of possession, we didn't create that many clear cut chances. I think John Everitt will sort that once he has played himself into form though

 

2) not a lot of height in the team these days! We won't be threatening at set pieces this year. On the upside - we do have pace throughout the team now

 

3) was Lee Smith fit? He usually runs himself into the ground - I don't think he is over the hamstring tweak

 

I don't usually comment on referees, but this guy ruined the game. I can not ever remember a game where there were so many free kicks. He blew for everything - play on was simply not an option. From where I was (admittedly a long way away) Riley deserved his second yellow card - his tackle was not malicious but it was late. However he should never have been shown the first yellow card!!! And the handball in the area towards the end of the second half .......!!!!! A clearer punch you will never see - shame it was by their centrehalf!

 

Looking forward to Barkingside tonight.

Anyway just for my two pennies worth

 

Game was rather spoiled by ref in 2nd half. cant comment on Riley sending off as incident was at other end of ground.

 

Burnham number 5 probably deserved to go.

 

I think the ref just looked out of his depth and seemed unsure of what to do. Have to say felt a bit sorry for the guy even though I am guilty of shouting at him and questioning wether he knew what he was doing (frustration gets the better of you sometimes)

 

It was not just town fans giving the officials a bit of a hard time, I think both sets of supporters were certainly both benches and as someone rightly pointed out even the Players from both sides were shaking there heads in disbelief at some of the goings on.

 

That did not help and the game turned a bit niggled.

 

On evidence of 1st half it could have been a really good 2nd half but there you go.

 

Town still won and looked reasonable

 

Do Towners moan .......I guess so we all have a little moan now and again.

 

Do we think we have a divine right to win ....No we just believe that the team are capable and like all supporters we really want to win.

 

Are we going to win .......Who Knows I hope so, but there are some good teams in this league and so we just have to play well in each game

he is still coming back from a hamstring injury; that's why he went off after about 55 minutes.

1. We probably won't stop moaning because the refs in the ESL are so bad (trust me).

 

2. Come to Ware? (where?).....Sorry Russ.We all prefure to watch Enfield playing football in Enfield.A travelling nomadic life is not for us.we also like to be part of a large crowd and sample some atmosphere.

 

3.Friendlies are normally arranged and played BEFORE the season starts.

i will tell you now that it was the other way round as i know our secretary spoke to yours and he would not have it, i also know mcdonald spoke to chandler and he flatly refused it as well so instead of listening to rumors ask one of you boad

One of the officials at PBT reserves last night was the other linesman at the ETFC v Burnham game on Saturday. The only comment he gave me about the game was "with hindsight, when the ref didn't show I should have taken the middle". That tells me the performance was bad.
