Don't know half the players so it'll be good to see how they do.

Yep

I spoke to one of the Thurrock defenders after the game and his comments may be of interest

 

1. It was an exhausting night for the back four(Thurrock)

2. The sending off was 100% correct

3. The Hornchurch pitch was top class

4. The Hornchurch crowd were tops

5. Hornchurch will be there or there abouts at the end of the season

 

Very difficult to put eleven new players together in less than 6-7 games and maybe your supporters should accept that on the night the Thurrock team played with no little skill and great commitment

I watched them 4 or 5 times last year, and imho, Thurrock were one of the best teams I saw when it came to defensive teamwork and "shutting up shop". They usually make their physical presence felt on the pitch too.
