Brotherton signs for WAFC

Recommended Posts

It just goes to show that ETFC need a good reserve side next season. And they MUST play at Brimsdown. This would mean that the ladies team would have to play elsewhere, but a good reserve side MUST take priority.

Just think, where would ETFC be today if EFC hadn't had such a strong reserve side throughout the ninties.Chandler learnt his trade there, and so much young talent was found.

Just think how many talented Enfield born youngsters ETFC will miss out on if we don't have a reserve side in the future.

Finally, to keep good talent in a reserve side, they must play in a good stadium(ie-Brimsdown) and play in a good league.

Why would the ladies team have to move out?

The Ladies are part of our community club and play on a SUNDAY not a day for reserves games.

We share the ground with Brimsdown and it is in use every saturday, the normal day for mens football.

The main tean no matter what some people want IS Brimsdown Rovers.

The Ladies team is just as important to our future as a reserve side would be,come and find me and i might be able to give you a clue as to why everybody is needed.

Do you think any premiership or league clubs give priority to their ladies team over their reserve team .of course not.(It would be unthinkable for Arsenal to have no reserve team but have a women's team)

Not having a reserve team is hindering our first team and the players we can keep hold of.

Whilst i think it's good that the Town have a ladies team. All efforts are (and should be) going into making the first team as successful as possible. As such a good reserve team must take priority over other teams at the club

perhaps a better idea would be to help put a railing around the pitch behind the stadium and bring that up to the minimum intermidiate standard needed for the ESL reserves league.

Another point is who would run the reserve side as everybody at the club follows the first team and also where would the extra money come from for league entry, officials, away travel and more players? The Ladies is are self financing and dont cost the mens section a penny.

I'm only interested in the success and progress of ENFIELD TOWN FC. If an ETFC kids teams were playing at Brimsdown(or whoever) instead of a reserve team,i would say the same. It's nothing to do with the team being a ladies team. The first team must always be the main concern of the club.

I along with many others supported the formation of ETFC ,to try to once again (in the future) bring back top level non league football to the borough of Enfield. Its nice to have community activities and have ladies teams..etc.But the priority must be to strive to achieve our goal of climbing the non league pyramid.

My criteria is this: Would ETFC suffer from not having a ladies section or an kids section ,then the answer is NO (even through it would be preferable to have both).... Would ETFC suffer by not having a good reserve team then the answer is YES

Too right LS..They should be at home cooking the dinner and loading the dishwasher (unless one has a maid for such trivialities)...and of course being a prostitute in the bedroom.

Tsk, women playing football...they'll be wanting the vote next and shopping in Anne Summers...perish the thought.

Having a Ladies team has NO affect on the mens side and has provided more money for the club than has been taken out.If we didnt have home games on a sunday (only 11 league plus cups)the ground would not stand empty but would have a brimmo kids team there,so to say the Ladies team is holding back the town shows as little knowledge as the moron who always put on the comments about cooking and washing, what ever name he decides to use at any given time.

That's what we need more of, a bit of angst as opposed to all the sycophantic crap that's been creeping in of late.

Have you seen the Ryman Div 2 site recently (probably no need I suppose!!!)? But I digress, they are all up each other's asses wishing everyone the best for the season. God this is football and I hate The Gherkins and Canvey Island!

PS Douglas Bader, are you American? I think you must be because humour and irony seem lost on you.

Now read slowly, I have never ever advocated women not being allowed to play or watch football.

I did say a few months ago that I believe that the FA are wasting their time throwing money at the FA women's whatsit league, as it will never get above the current level.

Mind you, how come you don't see women in curlers and head scarves at matches any more?
