An Arsenal/Lara Analogy!

Recommended Posts

Today, Brian Lara needs just seven runs to pass the 10,000 runs in test cricket mark.

If he does so, he will made his 10,000 runs in a match against England.

It doesn't mean he's scored 10,000 runs against England.

Similarly, when Arsenal accumulated the league points needed to win the league last season, with the point they got at WHL, does not mean they won the league at the Lane!!

Fking gooners. They're so thick sometimes.

If Man Utd had lost to Millwall at Cardiff, did they still have several games left that season in which they could have won the FA Cup??

Nope - it was a must-win game for Man Utd at Cardiff, else they'd have been out of the trophy.

In the case of a league (as opposed to knock-out), it is an accumulation of points and wins which ultimately win you a trophy.

Arsenal no more won the league at WHL than they did at any other ground they picked up points on last season.

The same applies with Lara's accumulation of runs which eventually took him past 10,000 runs.

I feel another conspiracy theory coming on................

A touch strange that young Brian got himself out a few balls after reaching his 10,000 !

Did he just go out there to get his 10,000, then think, 'S*d it' !! ?

Yet another conspiracy.................
