2-3

Capleton, Attwood, Jones, Wraight, Ben Martin, J Smith?, Hann, Sarll, McBreen, Crawshaw, Knight. Subs: Cogger, Riley, Parkinson, Akawayle (sp?), A N Other.

Scorers: McBreen, Crawshaw.

The 'first team' trained over the back and watched the second half.

Could have been 4-4 at half time. Wood took their chances in the second half and we, er, didn't.

Why do we play two centre back triallists, one from Harpenden Town and one a Cambridge Utd YTS, when we had far better than that playing in the ressies last season?

£8 is an insulting amount to charge to watch a team of reserves, triallists and only 3 or 4 who will start at Sutton. If it wasn't for the outstanding Gary Crawshaw, most people would have left the ground a long time before the end.

Must admit I was disappointed with last nights match. Yes, I know the HCC may not be a prestigous competition. Yes, I know that we may have been saving our best players for Saturday. But having been 2-0 up at half time I thought we could have at least tried to hang on to this lead. Capitulation can sum up the second half.

Our first goal, the one that got disallowed - what a belter that was! Our last goal - the one that didn't go in, so can't be called a goal really- how did he miss (Cogger - wasn't it?).

The defence was non-existent last night, only Ben Martin held it together at all. Attwood and Jones, and later Cogger and Riley didn't have the physical strength to match the Wood's more muscular approach and the marking, particularly in defence, was apalling. Thankfully Capleton made some fine saves, particularly in the first half.

Agree about the £8 too, far too much to charge for this fixture.

fair play rob

the £8 was laughable...

not sure i would have said wood had a muscular approach...thought they played some good one touch on the floor football...certainly better than our hoof and hope approach, when we started losing it
