Has been at Wealdstone all pre-season, and has a couple of goals, including one in the 5-0 win over Bishops Stortford on Saturday. What's his previous like? Heard he has a decent enough reputation but can he cut it at Ryman Premier level?

Had one very good season at ETFC.(and a couple of average one's).

He's very fit, direct and a bit of a handfull for defenders. He's a bit one dimentional,he like's the long ball over the top to run onto. If he recieves the ball to feet, don't expect him to pass,he will try to take players on to get a shot at goal.Invairiably this results in him losing posession, but occasionally he will break through a defence and score.

Ohh finally , Daniel's what's known in the trade as a 'professional sulker' when things are not going well.No one can carry off a 'disintersted strutt' like he can.

As to whether he can cut it in the Ryman. No problem.Ryman prem or conference, thats a different matter.I saw all his 33 games for the old EFC in the Ryman prem a few seasons ago,and even though he looked comfortable at that level,he never looked a threat,as he can do at a slightly lower level. (Having said that, the Ryman Prem is knowere near as strong now, as it was 5 years ago.)

I don't understand some of the negative comments about Daniel Clarke. He was a very good striker for ETFC and carried his excellent goalscoring record onto Ilford. Yes he can be selfish - he is a striker!!!

I would be interested to see his games / goals ratio for his ETFC career - I bet it is pretty impressive. Maybe Jim Cunneen can help?

I think we will miss him, but having said that Dean Nyman looks an excellent replacement.

Another thing ETFC fans should also remember about Danny - the loyalty he showed to the club in our first season. Leyton offered him far more money than he was on at ETFC at the time but he chose to stay. I remember it well.

Good luck to him at his next club - they are lucky to have him.

We all know Daniel did a really good job for us at ETFC, but last Season, for whatever reason, he simply did not perform. I personally will miss him, as I have always had a soft spot for him.

I wish him well wherever he ends up. Good Luck Daniel, I'll keep in touch.

only too happy to help bjr...

First of all look at DC's career as a whole with ETFC

Played 115 games, scored 71 goals at 1/140 mins. 33 assists means a goal or an assist every 95 mins.

In his first spell with us...

100 games 68 goals, 1/126 mins. 29 assists - goal and assist ratio 1/88 mins

Last season:

15 games - 3 goals, 1/436 mins, 4 assists - goal and assists ratio 1/187 mins

Hope this answers everyones questions.

Jim
