New Hickman Line for Squadron Leader

Recommended Posts

On my latest visit to Barnet General Hospital I had to have my Hickman Line as that was thought to be the source of my Infection.

Before I can have my next course of Treatment I will have to have a new Hickman Line fitted (Ouch!) Most of you will know that the three lines (Three Lions) were called Beckham, Owen & Lampard. I will need help in giving the new Lines Names, so for £1.00 you can pick three footballers

we will put all entries in a draw, pick one ticket out and those will ne the new names.

Dave Hicks will be the Man to see on Monday at the Hornchurch game, all proceeds will of course go towards the BIG SHAVE OFF CHEMO FUND. We will probably carry on for a couple of games, but I will up date you all regularly.

Tomorrrow I go for another CT Scan, lets hope its good news this time. <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

C'mon Guys please dig deep I really want to try & get the Chemo Fund just a little bit higher than the £2,698.50 it is at the moment

Ok two goes.

Old Enfield - King, Connell and Richards (Carl).

The Town - Smith, Hall (Andy) and Brotherton.

(I think that newcomers have to earn their lines).

Well another Two (Thats £2)

Old Enfield - Wolstenholme, Mitchell and Pape (Goalkeepers have to clear the lines)

The Town - Riley, Negus and Hall (Graham)

And yet another two (Thats £3)

Old Old Enfield

Lawrence, Day and Adams

Kingsland, Broomfield and Butterfield. (The lines can be marked out on the land to make a pitch)

And yet another two (Thats £4)

The Town

Gerraghty, Turner and St Hilaire - (These lines link the old and the new)

Cove, Clarke and Cooper (Gone but not forgotten).

Might as well make it a fiver

Quail, Payne and Francis (Nicky)

Howard, Thomas (Roy)for wingers and Dawson (Derek) as he didn't join the other goalkeepers.

I thought about letting you get away with it but decided against as let one slip go and it quickly becomes the norm.

It is my understanding that the constitution of the Town means that everybody has an equal say. There is no seniority in committee or otherwise. I know that this is somewhat revolutionary. It is my belief that the rot set in with regard to senior members of clubs and political parties when the Labour party started talking about "Senior politicians" or "Senior backbenchers" etc. As you can see my political leanings tend towards the Levellers but I do have some regard for Chartists.

I do not look upon "Millington, Cleggy and Coath" as senior but elected officials in, probably, very important positions and as such worthy of praise and thanks but I do not regard them as "senior".

To call them "senior" then leads to others being "junior". As you may know the only junior member of our club delights in that moniker it is not a handle given to them by other members.

Regards

C'mon Guys lets not get too silly or too excited, all I want is to name my new Hickman Line after Three Footballers, either Premiership/Football League, Enfield Town or ex EFC Players.(Before the Southbury Road Fiasco that is)

Do you all understand now, Honestly some people!!!

The Old Lines were Beckham, Owen & Lampard.

What "slip" was that then, Steph? Clubs are free to formulate themselves however they want, but the way they are viewed from the real world outside is pretty much uniform. Therefore, to any other club, league, competition, county association or national association your most important (and most senior) representatives are your club secretary and club chairman. If the chairman is unavailable then the vice chairman fills that breach. As I am a representative of an outside club (well, actually two outside clubs and an outside association), as far as I am concerned, Messrs. Bryant, Millington and Coath are the most "senior" officials within your club at present and these are the people I will turn to in the first instance when needing to contact the club.

Just because your club's supporters may choose not to consider anybody to be any more or less senior than anybody else within the club, do not expect the rest of the world to follow suit because it just ain't so.
