Not quite so sure on that myself Peter.

 

Think Duku could be good but his fitness does worry me.

 

Would say though, that even if it was only a friendly, the defence looked calm and assured at Tonbridge, whereas last season, despite the additional class of SAm, Porter, Leberl,(and even Smithy ) you always thought a stupid mistake was about to undo all the good work.

look at Kentonline, an interview with CK who appears confident that he can retain some players and states he is at least expecting play-off place

I believe the team's good enough to get promoted, it looks better than the team we had the first year of the conference, and they achieved promotion from The DMPL, also glad to hear we could sign Duku, looked a good player when we player Gravesend, much better than Porter. I don't know why the Fleet would have released him and brought in Porter.

Francis has had two erious leg injuries, one that kept him out for all bar the last 8 games of our first season in the Conference and the second in a car accident towards the end of last season.

It was going to be decided whether or not we could offer him a contract on August 14th but as Francis had had other offers, we agreed to a parting of the ways.

Francis was immense in our promotion season, but sadly since his first injury he has not been the same player, and now having broken his other leg, he had a lot to prove.

Everyone at Gravesend wishes him well.

but we don't wish G Porter well. Achieved a lot for Margate but a bit of a money grabbing trouble maker. He and Ford should get on. GNFC not liked for the way in which you "stole him" and Jay. Illegal approaches?? Still, water under the bridge. Gravesend to finish 9/10th Margate maybe to reach CS play-off's in a new stadium.

Actually some of us do wish Ports well - served the club well, stayed loyal last season, put up with stick on occasion, turned up to watch games when injured himself and only left after we were relegated to a lower league and he was out of contract. He did fine by me.
