Train to Sutton on 14th? - think again...

Recommended Posts

From Saturday 7th August until Monday 30th August, Network Rail will be replacing the track between Wimbledon and Sutton stations.

Therefore, Thameslink services operating between the following stations will be affected during the works:

• Wimbledon and Sutton

• Sutton and Streatham (via Carshalton)

Thameslink services will be suspended during this period as a result of the engineering work and track renewal.

Services between Wimbledon and London via Streatham are unaffected.

To assist Passengers during this period of works, the following alternative travel arrangements have been made:

• Between Wimbledon and Sutton stations there will be a rail replacement bus service

• Between Sutton, Carshalton, Hackbridge, Mitcham Junction and London, Southern Rail services can be used

• Between Morden, Elephant and Castle and Kentish Town, The Northern Line on London Underground can be used

For travel between Mitcham Junction and Streatham, route 127 bus between Mitcham Junction and Crowborough Road, Tooting can be used. This is approximately 10 minutes walk from Tooting station, where Thameslink services to Streatham can be joined.

Thameslink tickets are valid on all the above alternatives.

Sponsoring someone for charity should be something that one wants to do, not something they are pressured into doing, and then made out to look like a skinflint if they refuse to.

This year I have sponsored Pete Ratcliffe to run the London Marathon in aid of Multiple Sclerosis, Claire to walk round Hyde Park in aid of Child Cancer Research, and Costello's sister, who ran the St Albans Fun Run.

To raise money for an AIDS charity is commendable, but like Laz says, De Souza thinks we're all racist scum, he's never even taken the time out to speak with or acknowledge us, and I couldn't say that I know the guy.

Maybe if he comes into the Sutton clubhouse on the 14th, sits down with EFM and has a chat and a laugh with us, and were he to ask us personally then, I'm sure we would all delight in pledging some money to his worthy cause.
