What Dover think

Taken from some Dover website:

Billericay Town

The Club

So where do I begin with this Essex lot? Are they Billericay, or Billy or for that matter Rickaaaaay? Anyone know? What I do know of them is they’re ambitious; talk of going full time at the time of writing with young manager Justin Edinburgh, formerly of Tottenham Hotspur fame leading them hopefully from their perspective into a new era. But they have two disadvantages from my point of view:

Firstly their location and secondly, well… their location. Being in Essex is bad enough, but being in Essex and at the New Lodge, poor suckers!

Web Review

http://www.billericaytownfc.co.uk/ - One of the better sites in the division (even if when reviewing it did have a picture of Fatty Hockton on the front!) Up to date and nice and colourful for all your people with short attention spa…oh look a dog!

Their Pad

“Oh Jeez! Oh man! Its right off the Funk-o-meter!” The fine words of Hubert Farnsworth of ‘Futurama’. Not that The New Lodge is stinky, but My Lord it looks it!

Last Season

Billericay finished in the bottom 4 of the Isthmian Premier division and so are with us now. Tipped by many to finish there at the start of the season so it wasn’t a great shock; they should be somewhat stronger this time round.

I'm expecting the San [***!!***] Siro when I visit thier ground now!

Hmmmm, he thinks New Lodge is stinky and that Essex is a poor location. Well, if it was Canvey Island, I would agree. Still at least we're not in Hertfordshire (a bonus for us and Canvey) and have a idiot following like St. Albans. And we are ambitious (he got that right).

Hmmm, let the rilvary begin. They have to visit us on a Tuesday (expect one man and his dog to visit), whilst we have the benefit of a Saturday visit (they can expect the full Blue Army to arrive).

Dover, the obnoxious fans I've ever encountered in my life. What a bunch of moaners!! They were not smiling when we scored three goals in the last nine minutes to win 4-3 in the cup!!!

Been to The Crabble and despite being down in a dip at the end of a park halfway up a hill (as I vaguely recall...) it's a proper stadium alright, definitely Conference style, so they are going to get a few culture shocks this season on their travels. Of course, a pleasant surprise awaits them at "The New Lodge"...

Glad some of you enjoyed the preview by my mate. It's all a bit of fun!

We won't be surprised by New Lodge as we've been there a few times recently to play your tenants. (So we know there is no car park and the stand only accomodates season ticket holders and directors <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

Our ground is Football League standard. Whilst not being incredibly imposing, we have a couple of big terraces, loads of cover and about 1500 seats.

In response to GazzaBTFC, I would expect more than one man and a dog (from my family at least!) on Tuesday.

Don't worry about having a rivalry with us, concentrate on Chelmsford. If you read the other club previews on the site - www.dovorian.co.uk - you will notice that Tommy doesn't single you out for criticism. He likes to ruffle a few feathers, not just yours!

Please take the article in jest and check out the site again some time.

I'm looking forward to Tuesday and expect a very tough match. Will be interesting to see The Hockton again.
