Last Friday vs Millwall Reserves

AFF

Recommended Posts

The Millwall side was as posted by Rob elsewhere on here. Dennis Wise and Ray Wilkins were in the Directors box. Alan McLeary [sp?] runs their Reserves.

Our starting line up was: Watkins, Zoricich, Cousins, Wraight, Seeby, Campbell, Attwood, Parker, Clark, McBreen and Rydeheard. The subs who came on were: Thomas, Sarll, Sargant, Davies, James Ayres, Bullet Parkinson and Peter Afolayan.

Matt 'Matty' Hann is injured. No sign of Parys Okai or Paul Kitson.

We lost 2-0, a goal in each half. They struck the bar a couple of times and we did once. It was a dull, lacklustre game. There was a lot of , entirely justified, whistle throughout and the string of substitutions [in the] second half made it rather disjointed and prevented the establishment of any pattern. Nothing like as entertaining as the Barnet or Watford games.

Clark was his usual busy self. Watkins and Cousins did well. Attwood had a sound game. McBreen was disappointing tonight.

The crowd was 220. There were 8 'Security staff' drafted in from the City Centre supplementing the usual Stewards. They had a quiet night.

Sky TV is in the clubhouse.

Gotta agree - the match on Friday night was pretty poor - I didn't enjoy it no where near as much as the Barnet game. I didn't think the Millwall team looked that impressive - poor football all round.

It would be good if the TV at the end of the Bar could be turned on/made bigger (maybe a screen?). At the moment if you are in the bottom half of the room (near the bogs and entrance/exit) you can't see any screens. Getting Sky is a step in the right direction (I'll be tempted to go and watch a Saturday dinner time game, before watching the 3pm KO game at Calarence Park) - well done!

Hi Zag.

I spoke briefly to the Bar Manager's husband on Friday and, apparently, the 'third' T.V. at the far [or near, depending on your perspective] end of the clubhouse needs a part and should be operational within the next week or so.

I would say so.

I reckon more people would be interested on a Sunday afternoon when there's nothing doing at home, than on a Saturday lunchtime, when most people are still up town being dragged round Marks & Spencers etc.

Mind you, people would need to know it opens on Sundays. Like I say, no good opening for a couple of Sundays, find out no-one's coming and never doing it again.

It would take a few weeks for the word to get around and after a while, you'd probably find you'd get something of a regular crowd.
