FA Vase 25th Anniv Celebration New Date Sun 19/9

Recommended Posts

As you are probably all aware by now this is the 25th Anniversary since BTFC won the FA Vase for the third time back in 1979.

Plans were well under way to celebrate this event on Sunday 5th September with a special game made up of the Vase winning teams of 1976, 1977 and 1979 against a Justin Edinburgh X1.

On Saturday 24th July Justin Edinburgh represented Tottenham in the London Masters Tournament on Sky along with a number of other players lined up to play on the 5th September. Tottenham were successful beating Arsenal 6-1 in the final and progressed to the main finals day to take place in Sheffield, yes you have guessed it on the 5th September.

With this in mind and following a number of meetings we have decided to move the date back by 2 weeks.

This means that we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of BTFC Vase success now on Sunday 19th September with the ground open from Midday and the main event kicking off at 2pm.

To celebrate this event we launched at the start of July a limited edition commomerative mug priced at £5.95 plus P&P which are selling quickly. Make sure you do not miss out on this special edition piece of BTFC merchandise which you can purchase from the club shop or online at www.btfc.net

To find out more information or if you would like to be part of or help on this special day please contact Andy Turner on 07889 516922.

25yrs ago, the way you lot bang on about it I thought it was last week. Still you get a chance to try again this year!

Just shows how much it really means when your manager would prefer to playing some veterans tournament that means nothing rather than celebrate Billericays finest hour!

Just remembered, it's 5yrs since we won the Herts Senior Cup, quick lets get some mugs done and a game arranged ..... mugs indeed <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

No, that is not the case I know that Justin said he would opt out of the Masters Final to be part of Billericays special day.

With a number of players also involved in the Masters who would of played in Justin's team the correct decision for all was made to change the date to Sunday 19th September.

EFM I would ask you to kindly check your facts before coming on to other clubs forums and making incorrect comments.

Oh, no Andrew, this was really bad news, because this means that I will not be able to see that game, as I'm unable to go that weekend. And I was looking frward to meet some of those old heroes...

Well, well, that's life.

I just have to stick with my original plan and will be there 4th and 5th of september.

But the good thing is that I probably will have with me a new supporter who hasn't been to Billericay before.
