New Pitch

assuming one day we get round to it, i note from www.confguide.com a statement from Scarborough chairman about their new stadium have an artificial pitch like Dunfermilines.

I remember posting about this about a year ago when i was reminded that it was not FIFA sanctioned.

Now of course it has got FIFA sanctioning.Do not know comparative cost, but if i was the developer/investor for MFC i would be advocating so ground could be used 365 days a year incl. lots of summer earners.

The developers could even see an opportunity to make a profit from the sporting facilities.

You never know TDC might also like it.Something like thast could just break through the 'stalemate' and give the council something fresh to support.Offer the facility to them -let them think it is their idea-anything to get the deal done.

Apart from which if MFC got used to playing and training on it, we may have real home advantage over the other teams and be succesful in the league.

England could even use the facility for training-who needs Malaga when they could come to Margate.

Lock up your daughters-Svens in town!!

[color:"blue"]The real question is how far has the technology advanced since the 1980's bouncy-bouncy surface we saw at Loftus Road. If it is possible to have an all weather surface which has the bounce characteristics of grass then perhaps it should be investigated - I notice that Dunfirmline got a £125000 EUFA grant, so the net costs could be silmilar to grass.

Did i read somewhere that FIFA want all 1st class games to eventually be played on artificial pitches. i suppose it's a good way of getting rid of the old tyre mountain. As an after thought do any of FIFA have connections in the rubber industry.I hope Sven has.
