Some time ago, the season before last I think, I offered him a place between the sticks in a friendly game against Sandridge. It was during the Christmas break and unlikely to be too strenuous, however I have to report that he bottled it big time.

 

Despite the protestations of a Mercedes driving father figure, he was having none of it.

 

I therefore have to conclude that, if asked, he'd probably faint.

Oh dear, HKS. You know as well as I do that I had some other form of engagement that very night, and was thus unable to play.

 

If I was asked, I'd be more than willing to play.

This appears to be a sad effort to deny what actually happened. If you remenber correctly there others in the car, who would have been only too pleased for you to don the Yellow and Blue (in your case it would have been green or silver)and play for the mighty saints.

 

I stick by my original claim that you bottled it. Which I believe I said at the time

Just been playing football round the corner with a few others.

 

HKS. I didn't 'bottle it' when asked to play a day before the away Capital League match at Farnborough, and to be honest I don't personally think I bottled it on the pitch that night, either.

 

As I've said before and I'll say again, I'd be more than willing to pull on the yellow and blue of the Mighty Saints should the call come in. However, as yet, I have not been approached, so I'll be there tonight in a spectating capacity only.
