I'll lend you a collection of their early singles and b-sides, Claire.

 

Much like the Beatles and Oasis, the Stone Roses (c.1988-1990) had a tremendous selection of singles and b-sides that were every bit as good as the material on the album.

 

Songs like Elephant Stone, Mersey Paradise, What The World Is Waiting For, Standing Here... all terrific songs that weren't on that classic first album.

 

The record company compiled these together and released a compilation of all their non-album tracks in 1992 called "Turns Into Stone". Brilliant collection of songs, though personally I still prefer to hear them, crackles and all, on my 7" and 12" singles.

 

Just a bloody shame they ruined their legacy by making The Second Coming. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
